In the hottest month of the warm summer, on July 11 and 12, 2015, the 2-day CACIB International Dog Show in Szombathely will be held thanks to the Szombathely Independent Legal Entity Organization of MEOE. Dogs from the ten breed groups will compete over two days in the green area rings of the Arborétum Sports Center.
On Saturday, July 11, dogs belonging to the Group I, Group II, and Group IX breed groups will be judged.
On Sunday, July 12, dogs belonging to the Group III, Group IV, Group V, Group VI, Group VII, Group VIII, and Group X breed groups will be judged.
Organizing the 2-day CACIB dog show has become a tradition in the life of the Szombathely Independent Legal Entity Organization of MEOE, as it has been held every year for quite some time. The Szombathely Organization of MEOE held its first dog show in 1968, followed by many more shows over the years. Their Dog Training School also began operating in the same year. At that time, the Association worked enthusiastically with a loyal team under the principle of "Together – For Each Other".
The Association operated for a long time as a member Organization of MEOE and then became an independent legal entity in 2000, like many other MEOE member Associations.
In the well-functioning dog school of the Szombathely Independent Legal Entity Association of MEOE, dogs and their owners learn together in various courses such as obedience and guard-protection courses, as well as preparation for work tests. They also welcome dogs and their owners between 3 and 8 months old to the dog kindergarten.
Paying tribute to dog training and dog sports, a new dog sports center began operating in the city in the autumn of 2013. In addition to the traditional trainings, team sports such as flyball and agility were introduced at the sports center, which are based on agility as well as the harmonious relationship between the dog and its owner.
The leadership of the Association was renewed in 2012, and their future goals include promoting the unity of the dog community. As can be read in the words of the Association’s President – “Let us set an example of thinking together, compassion, and selfless, interest-free love of animals.” In light of these thoughts, all dog-loving owners and exhibitors are invited with their dogs to the 2-day dog show for a great time together with dogs.

The venue of the 2-day CACIB international dog show is Szombathely, also known by its Latin name Savaria, which is Hungary's oldest founded city and is often called the Queen of the West. Its population is more than 80,000.
Walking through the streets of Szombathely, we can experience the blending of Roman times and modern life, moving from a world radiating a millennia-old atmosphere into the present.
The city, rich in historical and cultural traditions, is characterized by a dynamically developing tourism sector and a multitude of festivals held in the city, such as the Savaria dance competition, International Bartók Festival, Savaria carnival, as well as numerous international fairs.
Besides Szombathely’s rich sights and colorful program opportunities, the natural features and landmarks of the surrounding area are also excellent destinations for hikers.
The city’s parks, the Historical Theme Park, the Boating Lake, the Lake Bath, the Vas Museum Village, and the Kámoni Arboretum are all popular excursion spots.
Among its natural sights, we must mention the Kámoni Arboretum located on the bank of the Gyöngyös stream, which is the country’s largest, 27-hectare botanical garden that contains tree and shrub species of the temperate and cold zones.
In the Kámoni Arboretum, in addition to more than 1000 pine species, there are 2000 deciduous tree species. The pride of the garden is the wonderful Rhododendron bushes, showcasing 50 varieties, which complete the garden most beautifully during their May blooming.
The Vas Museum Village presents the peasant way of life from old times and the folk architectural culture. The Museum Village opened its doors in 1973; 43 buildings from 27 settlements have been successfully rebuilt on its grounds. The introduction of native Hungarian domestic animals and regular heritage-preserving programs complete the life of the Museum Village.
All interested parties, guests, and exhibitors with their dogs are warmly welcomed in the hottest months of the warm summer by the MEOE Szombathely Independent Association to Szombathely, at the Arborétum Sports Center, to a wonderful 2-day CACIB international dog show!
Below we would like to inform guests and families planning to attend the exhibition about the parking and entry fee amounts:
The amount of the parking and entry fee is always determined by the Dog Breeders' Association organizing the specific dog show, so we cannot precisely predict the exact amount beforehand, only an estimated figure.
The parking fee ranges between 1000 HUF and even 4000 HUF (depending on the city where the exhibition is held).
The entry fee varies, ranging from 500 HUF to 2000 HUF per person, but in most cases children and pensioners either do not pay at all or enjoy a larger discount.
