The 2 x CAC National Dog Show is hosted on the former Stromfeld barracks area (the area of the Organization's dog school).
According to the program of the 2 x CAC national dog show, we can participate in a CAC show starting at 10:00 am, followed by a Retro CAC dog show starting between 5:00 pm and 6:00 pm in the afternoon. The MEOE Miskolc Independent Organization has a long-standing tradition in organizing dog shows, as since passing into the 2000s it has almost every year received permission from the parent organization to hold national or international dog shows. Looking back at the international shows, the Organization hosted 2 x CACIB international shows in both 2008 and 2010, which continued as the "Marathon Dog Show" in 2012 and 2013 and was expanded by an additional "Holdvilág" CAC national dog show. Thus, over two days, exhibitors and visitors could attend 2 international CACIB and 1 national CAC dog shows. Regarding national shows, the Organization held CAC dog shows in 2007 and again in 2010, and this year won the right from MEOESZ to organize a CAC show again.
The 62-year-old MEOE Miskolc Independent Organization places great emphasis on puppy and young dog socialization in its well-functioning dog school, which is why the dog school includes a dog kindergarten as a first step for baby and young dogs and their owners, who can participate first in a socialization training course. In the "My Dog School" located on the former Stromfeld barracks grounds, under the leadership of renowned master trainers, work and hobby dog training is conducted. Young and adult dogs can participate with their owners in several trainings, such as Obedience, Companion Dog, and Lapdog trainings, and special ring training is offered for those preparing for shows. The leadership of the MEOE Miskolc Independent Organization and the master dog trainers warmly welcome dogs and owners who wish to learn to the various courses of "My Dog School" in the future.

The city of Miskolc, host of 2 x CAC dog shows, which is the seat of Borsod-Abaúj-Zemplén county and the third most populous city in Hungary, is also the county’s cultural and economic center. Nestled in the eastern side of the Bükk Mountains, the city lies in the valleys of 3 rivers and owes its exceptional natural beauty also to this wonderful setting.
According to archaeological findings, the area has been inhabited since prehistoric times and nowadays is regarded as the oldest continuously inhabited region in Hungary. It was an important trading city already in the Middle Ages, and after the Turkish occupation its industry also began to develop. The city's growth started in the 1900s, striving independently to become the major city, industrial, commercial, financial, and cultural center of the region. During the socialist era, Miskolc became a stronghold of heavy industry. In the years following the regime change, emphasis shifted towards culture and tourism in the city.
Among the downtown sights, the most significant are the City Hall built in Romantic style, the beautiful flower-surrounded Saint Stephen statue, Erzsébet Square with the Erzsébet Spa, and the Népkert with its enchanting promenade, where the Statue Park is located, including the statue of Queen Elisabeth. Additional sights and monuments include the Romanesque style Avas Reformed Church, the Gothic Revival style Greek Orthodox Church, the Hungarian Orthodox Church Museum showcasing the history and heritage of the Greek Orthodox Church, the Wooden Church (Deszkatemplom), and the late Classicist Miskolc National Theatre building enriched with romantic elements.
The surroundings of the city, including Miskolctapolca, Diósgyőr, and Lillafüred, offer numerous attractions.
In Miskolctapolca, belonging to the city, there is the fabulous cave bath, which is one of the most atmospheric and romantic places in the city. The medicinal water bath is very popular among both locals and tourists, as the bath spreading across the cave system and the open-air area is an ideal choice in every season of the year, whether it is romantic relaxation, a holiday for large families, or night bathing.
In historic Diósgyőr, there is the Gothic castle that was the betrothal gift of queens for centuries. The Diósgyőr Castle, built in the 15th century, had its heyday during the reign of King Louis the Great, and today it is the most significant monument in the country. The ruins and restored structures of the medieval castle count as a living museum in themselves.
The 2500 sqm palace once comprised about 50 rooms, from which the four tall towers and the ground floor of the connecting wings, as well as some upper floor ruins, still stand. Inside the castle, one can see a castle history and weaponry exhibition, wax statues of King Louis the Great and the Venetian envoy, a wax museum, and a mint. The castle is especially worth visiting in the summer, as castle games entertain the public, transporting us back to the era of the Sun King.
The surroundings of the city also attract nature lovers; Lillafüred, one of the most beautiful natural areas in the country, belongs to Miskolc. Here, hikers can see natural treasures such as the Lillafüred Waterfall, one of the few waterfalls in our country.
But here can also be found the valley of the Szinva river, Lake Hámori, the Anna Cave which is considered a world rarity, and István Cave, the largest limestone cave in the region. Lillafüred can be easily explored thanks to the Lillafüred State Forest Railway, which passes by wonderful landmarks and sights.
Among the natural attractions of the city is the Avasi Arboretum located in the inner area of Miskolc. Its establishment and the planting of its species began in 1986, and from the 6-hectare area, currently a 1.5-hectare park section planted with pines and evergreens is accessible, in which the park's caretakers help orientation by placing signposts. The Avasi Arboretum houses the richest conifer collection in the country, where nearly 1000 specimens of 600 plant species can be studied. The collection is particularly rich in Hungarian-bred pines. The arboretum hosts 12 types of cedar, 36 types of lodgepole pine, 39 types of spruce, 55 types of pine with needle bundles, 9 types of red pine, 136 types of false cypress, 173 types of juniper, 37 types of yew, and 96 types of thuja. Planting of deciduous trees has also begun on a new 4.5-hectare area.
In a wonderful forest environment, in the Csanyik Valley, there is the Miskolc Zoo and Cultural Park, one of the youngest and at the same time longest-standing institutions in our country. Written records prove that a royal game park operated in this area as early as 1355, established by King Louis the Great.
At the Zoo, we can see nearly 700 individuals of more than 300 animal species from 5 continents in an environment similar to their natural habitat. Alongside native species, we can see one of Central Europe's largest wolf packs here, and also admire numerous birds, big game, and predators. The Zoo is adjacent to the Bükk National Park, offering visitors a glimpse of its rich flora as well.
A special feature of the zoo is the nature conservation sculpture park. It commemorates those European natural scientists who were pivotal to the development of modern zoo culture; and with life-sized bronze statues of extinct animal species, it draws attention to the irreparable damage humans can cause in nature. The Zoo always welcomes visitors with colorful events, offering varied programs for all age groups.
The city day of Miskolc is celebrated every year on May 11th, when the city blossoms, decorating its squares, parks, and streets with over 100,000 annual flowers.
The wonderfully beautiful Flower Clock located in Szent István Square also takes its final form by this time so that it can shine in its uniquely magical shape on the city day.
“The city where it is good to live, where something is always happening, where visitors always find an experience, where races can be held on Europe’s longest main street, where many come and even more could come. Miskolc, a place worth visiting and getting to know better.”
Below we would like to inform guests and families planning to attend the exhibition about the parking and entrance fees:
The amount of the parking and entrance fees is always set by the Dog Breeding Association organizing the particular dog show, so we cannot precisely predict its specific monetary value in advance, only an estimated amount.
The parking fee may range between 1000.- HUF and even 4000.- HUF (depending on which city the exhibition is held in).
The entrance fee varies, ranging from 500.- HUF to 2000.- HUF per person, but in most cases, children and retirees either pay nothing at all or enjoy a larger discount.
All interested parties, guests, and exhibitors with their dogs are warmly welcomed by the MEOE Miskolc Independent Organization on the 20th day of the first month of the colorful autumn with two special and vibrant CAC dog shows!
