The Füredi Dog Breeders Association received the opportunity to organize a double CAC dog show this year. The 2 x CAC dog shows will be held on May 5, 2019 in the park of the Kemény Castle in Tiszafüred. The morning CAC starts at 09:00, the afternoon CAC starts at 14:30.
The organizing Association of the show, the Füredi Dog Breeders Association
The former MEOE Tiszafüred Association was founded in 1990, and then it started to develop rapidly in the following years. Thanks to this, in 2007 and 2011 they were also given the opportunity to organize CAC dog shows by the parent association.
In 2014 the Association underwent significant changes, and they organized the 2015 CAC dog show with renewed strength and rejuvenated, based on the successes of which they were able to organize a CAC dog show again in 2017!

Introducing the city of the dog show, Tiszafüred
The city of the CAC dog show is Tiszafüred, a Tisza riverside town located on the edge of the Hortobágy, in the heart of the Northern Great Plain region. Tiszafüred is the largest settlement in the Tisza Lake region and also its tourist center, which is why the city is often referred to as the “capital of Lake Tisza.”
The history of Tiszafüred dates back to 4500 BC according to contemporary archaeological finds. The first finds testify to this. Later, archaeologists during excavations in the outskirts of Tiszafüred found valuable artifacts from the time of Hungarian state foundation, including a settlement and an associated cemetery from the Árpád era.
The settlement was first mentioned as Tiszafüred in 1273. Between the 1500s and 1700s, the town became uninhabited five times. From the end of the 18th century for more than a century, it played an important role as a market town. From 1833 it began significant development; a bridge was built over the Tisza River and the road network started to be established. In 1849, Tiszafüred briefly became the seat of Heves and Outer Szolnok counties. The rapid development ended with World War I when the town also lost its market town status. Socialist industrialization had a beneficial effect on the settlement, which had lost momentum; ship and crane factories, as well as an aluminum factory and pharmaceutical packaging plant, were established in Tiszafüred. Due to the growing population and territorial expansion, it was declared a city in 1984. By the early 2000s, after the factories closed, the town’s economy collapsed. Nowadays Tiszafüred is gradually transforming from a former industrial city into a tourist-service center. Its touristic appeal is enhanced by a rich program offer and the country’s first floodplain adventure park.
Among the sights of Tiszafüred, we must mention the Kiss Pál Museum, founded in 1877, which has a rich local history and solar collection, and which has been housed since 1953 in the classicist style Lipcsey mansion.
Another monument of the city is the Nyúzó Gáspár Potter’s Folk House, built in the second half of the 19th century, where enthusiasts of folk art can get acquainted with the long-famous pottery craft of Füred. The Folk House also functions as a museum with a permanent exhibition in potter Nyúzó Gáspár’s classicist style residential house, presenting the working and living conditions of potters with the help of original furnishings and works of art.
There are two churches in the city. The Reformed Church is a monument-type baroque building with a 6-story gallery tower. Next to the church is a parsonage in classicist style. The Roman Catholic Church, also built in classicist style between 1819 and 1827, was consecrated to Our Lady of the Assumption and has several altarpieces from the mid-19th century.
Among the beautiful sights of Tiszafüred is the Kemény Castle, built in 1920 in neo-baroque style, furnished with period furniture, and owned by the Hortobágy National Park, located in the Tiszafüred Castle Park area. The castle currently operates as a guesthouse and is not open to the public. The castle park, protected since 1980, is aesthetically enriched by poplar, maple, juniper, and thuja trees lining the road leading to the castle. This magnificent castle park serves as the concrete site for the CAC dog show year after year.
Among its natural sights, we must mention the Tisza Lake Bird Reserve, which is a nesting and breeding place for migratory birds and part of the Hortobágy National Park. One of the reserve’s most valuable habitats is the heronry. In the willow and poplar groves, goshawks and black storks also nest, and cranes, ospreys, and mute swans regularly pass through the area. The Tisza Lake Bird Reserve is a strictly protected natural treasure, included in the internationally recognized waterbird habitat list. The hidden treasures of Lake Tisza, waiting with thousands of beauties, are most gladly unveiled to those who wish to explore them from some kind of watercraft.
The Tisza Lake area around Tiszafüred has been protected since the establishment of the Hortobágy National Park, and more than half of the approximately 7000 hectares serves the purposes of ecotourism. The town and its surroundings are a favorite place for guests seeking a quiet natural environment. Visitors have the opportunity to go horseback riding, participate in horseback tours, and take part in bicycle tours along the Tisza. Anyone who admires this landscape will surely fall in love and return year after year.
