The National Federation of Hungarian Dog Breeders' Associations announces a 2 x CACIB international dog show for every breed in the city of Komárom.

The Komárom Dog Show is a 2-day International Dog Show, which will be held on October 11 and 12, 2014 and includes one CACIB show each day. On the occasion of the 115th anniversary of MEOESZ, the Grand Prix CACIB Dog Show will be held on Saturday, October 11, 2014, where the winning dogs will receive the MEOESZ Grand Prix title. On Sunday, October 12, 2014, the traditionally held CACIB Derby show will take place, which is primarily a competition for young dogs, where the most beautiful young dogs will be awarded the 2014 Derby winner title.

The venue for the international dog show series organized by MEOESZ in Komárom is also considered traditional, as for several years the famous architectural masterpiece, the Monostori Fortress area has hosted these events.

Dog owners and guests are welcomed from 7:00 AM by the Breeders for the show. The opening of the show will take place at 10:00 AM on Saturday, and the judging will start at 10:30 AM. On Sunday, judging begins at 10:00 AM. The Best In Show starts at 3:00 PM on both days.

Visitor programs during the show:

The organizers of the show have not only targeted exhibitors but also offer diverse and special programs for families and guests attending the show.
We can admire the special abilities of dogs within the framework of dog sports programs, and as spectators, we can participate in demonstrations by various Dog Schools.
At the Danube Bastion, we can visit the exhibition titled "Danube, Ships, Trades", where unique creations and models from the history of Danube navigation can be seen.
The traditionally held Hobby dog beauty contest promises to be an interesting program, where pedigree-less purebred or mixed breed dogs can participate and registration is possible on site. This contest mostly attracts dogs living as family pets.
In addition to various dog sports programs and demonstrations, Victoria Hamza's Horse Whisperer performance promises to be a true rarity, which was also a great success among viewers at the June show.
The organizers have also thought of children, with skill and knowledge competitions awaiting the kids present at the event.

The venue of the International Dog Shows is the city of Komárom, located on the eastern edge of the Little Hungarian Plain and the right bank of the Danube, with a population of nearly 20,000. Komárom is a busy border town and also a cultural and tourist center, which due to its excellent location has been an important economic and strategic center of our small country since ancient times. The life of the area was organized around the Komárom fortress system. The Treaty of Trianon rearranged not only the national borders but also the borders of the city. The divided city’s one half is within the borders of Hungary, while the other part is still located in Slovakia.

Among Komárom’s sights, the most significant are the Reformed Church, the Roman Catholic Church, the Turul statue and the Komárom Spa located in the city center, whose uniqueness is provided by the mineral-rich medicinal water springing from a depth of 1268 meters.

The western part of the city is famous for its natural beauty, here is also the WF Leisure Park, which offers numerous recreational opportunities to visitors in a picturesque environment. The Leisure Park hosts outdoor concerts, festivals, all-day family programs, exhibitions, and competitions.

The city’s significant tourist attraction is the Komárom fortress system, whose Hungarian members are the Monostor Fortress, the Igmánd Fortress, and the Star Fortress. The Klapka György Museum is located in the Igmánd Fortress, whose permanent exhibitions prominently include the Roman Stone Collection and the exhibition presenting the history of the Hungarian Navy.

The Monostor Fortress – which also serves as the venue for the international dog show – is Central Europe’s largest modern fortress, built between 1850 and 1871. The most advanced architectural techniques of the time were applied during its construction, but by the time it was completed, it had become militarily obsolete. Its military function ceased long ago, and nowadays it serves as a tourist attraction as well as a venue for various programs.

The more detailed history of the Komárom fortress system can be viewed in the video below:

Below we would like to inform guests and families intending to visit the exhibition about parking and entrance fees:
The amount of the parking and entrance fees is always determined by the Dog Breeders' Association organizing the given dog show, so we cannot precisely specify its numeric value in advance, only an estimated amount.
The parking fee can range between 1000 HUF and even 4000 HUF (depending on which city the exhibition is held in).
The entrance fee varies, it can range from 500 HUF to 2000 HUF per person, but in most cases children and pensioners either do not pay at all or enjoy a larger discount.

All interested parties, guests, and exhibitors with their dogs are warmly welcomed by the Hungarian Federation of National Dog Breeders' Associations on October 11th and 12th, 2014 in Komárom, at the Monostori fortress for the Grand Prix CACIB and Derby CACIB international dog shows!
