The Independent Association of MEOE Pécs with its own legal entity is organizing a 2 x CACIB International exhibition in one of Europe's cultural capitals, Pécs, on June 21 and 22, 2014. The International dog shows will be hosted at the Expo Center Pécs Multifunctional Exhibition and Event Center.

The Independent Association of Pécs has a long tradition in organizing exhibitions, as they have been organizing dog shows since the 1970s, including 15 years of International exhibitions, which are held every 2 years.

The well-functioning Association was founded in 1947, which operated as a former MEOE member association until 1997, and from the following year as an Independent Association. In the two decades following its founding, organizing dog-related life occupied the management. At the same time, the following decades also brought professional and financial prosperity for them. The flourishing of dog life also brought active club life into the Association's life, which is still a priority today.
The Association also runs a well-functioning dog school, offering disciplinary, obedience, and guard-protection training sessions for dog owners. The sessions are conducted under the supervision of certified master trainers, where an important aspect is the good relationship and harmony between the owner and the dog.

“Pécs is the southern city of the country / sometimes it's warm here even in winter / on the slopes of Jakabhegy and Tettye / snowdrops bloom in January” – this is how Sándor Weöres writes about Pécs, the city of International exhibitions. This Mediterranean atmosphere city has a history of about 2000 years; its area has been inhabited since Roman times. Sopianae (as Pécs was called then) also played a central role in later historical periods. During Turkish rule, it became a true eastern city, with many mosques and baths built during the more than 140 years, as reflected in the following quote by Mihály Babits: “Far and wide spreads the plain, where the sergeant calls the line / farimportant four towers, minaret and arch / far the smoky green top of Mecsek renews / at least offering fresh garlands to the eye.” In Pécs, next to each other can be found values from the Roman era, the Middle Ages, the Turkish occupation, Gothic, Renaissance, Baroque, Christian and Muslim buildings, residences, churches, prayer houses, mosques.

The city of Pécs is attractive to visitors and tourists due to its historical and cultural values and its distinctive intellectual life. The city’s most famous architectural and cultural heritage is the Early Christian Burial Chambers of Pécs, which UNESCO declared a World Heritage site in 2000. Among religious monuments, the Synagogue holds a worthy place. The Zsolnay Ceramic Collection's exhibition spaces trace the development of architectural ceramics. A special experience is a trip to the Porcelain Manufactory, where the legendary Zsolnay heritage can be admired up close.

The city is well known Europe-wide for its rich artistic life, festivals, and artists. Pécs offers numerous cultural programs throughout the year for guests seeking entertainment. The Pécs Spring Festival, Rock Marathon, Heritage Festival, Pécs Dance Marathon, and Pécs Open-Air Plays are annual festivals that attract many visitors. In 2005, among many cities of the European Union, Pécs was chosen (alongside Istanbul and Essen) as the European Capital of Culture for 2010.

Among Pécs's natural attractions, the Pécs Zoo and Aquarium-Terrarium stands out, located on the picturesque side of the Mecsek Mountains. In the classic style zoo, nearly 100 species of animals from five continents live, totaling 400 individuals. In almost 30 terrariums and aquariums in the labyrinth of Pécs’s medieval cellar system, visitors can marvel at more than 100 animal species totaling 500-600 individuals.

Below we would like to inform guests and families intending to attend the exhibition about the parking and entrance fees:
The amount of parking and entrance fees is always determined by the Dog Breeder Association organizing the specific dog show, so we cannot precisely forecast the exact figures, only an estimated amount.
The parking fee can range between 1000.- HUF and even up to 4000.- HUF (depending on the city where the exhibition is held).
The entrance fee varies, ranging from 500.- HUF to 2000.- HUF per person, but in most cases, children and pensioners either do not pay at all or enjoy greater discounts.

Everyone interested, guests, and exhibitors with their dogs are warmly welcomed by the MEOE Pécs Independent Association to Hungary’s Cultural Capital, Pécs, for the 2 x CACIB international dog show!
