On June 20 and 21, 2015, we can participate in the first international exhibitions of the summer season in Velence, organized and hosted by the MEOE Székesfehérvár Independent Regional Organization. The venue of the 2 x CACIB international dog show has changed; this year the exhibition has moved to the Velence Rowing Course area.
The leadership of the MEOE Székesfehérvár Independent Regional Organization consists of breeders and working dog enthusiasts who work together to involve the younger generation in dog activities starting from childhood to introduce children to responsible animal love and care. The Organization's dog school is one of the best sources for this, where dog-loving families, people, and children meet and learn together with their dogs. The Dog School helps dog owners with behavioral, socialization, and obedience training; they teach the school's pupils to engage with dogs with love and patience. Additionally, guard and protection training is operated, preparation for work exams and exhibitions, and the popular dog sport, agility, attracts many interested participants. The sessions are available both in groups and individually.
The MEOE Székesfehérvár Independent Regional Organization, crossing into the 2000s, has almost every year won the right to organize dog shows; it held CAC shows in 2008 and 2010, while in 2007, 2009, 2010, 2011, and 2012 it organized 2 x CACIB international exhibitions. In 2013 and 2014 it doubled, as after the 2 x CACIB shows held in the Székesfehérvár Bregyó-köz Camping area, one month later the Organization also organized and conducted the Velence Lake CAC national dog show. This year the Organization has again received the opportunity to organize the 2 x CACIB international dog show.

The city of the 2 x CACIB international dog show is Velence, which, as the gateway to Lake Velence, is one of Hungary's popular holiday resorts and the resort town of the country's second largest lake.
Velence was already of great importance in Roman times, as it was an important settlement on the military road between Savaria and Aquincum. It likely got its name in the Middle Ages from Italian city builders.
Among the sights of Velence, we must mention the freely standing Beck Castle in the center of the town, built in the neo-baroque style and commissioned by the Beck family at the end of the 1800s. Since its renovation in 1989, the castle has been privately owned and is not open to visitors. Also, the Geschwind Castle, built in the 1920s, designed and executed by our famous architect Alajos Hauszmann. Part of the interior of the building remains in its original state to this day, but it is not accessible nowadays. Protected lime and chestnut trees rise in the castle garden. Additionally, the Meszleny Castle, an 18-room manor house which, together with its park, was owned by the Meszleny family until 1945. It is no longer accessible in its current ruined state. Other sights in the town include the nearly three-and-a-half-century-old Reformed Church, preserving memories of the past, and the 200-year-old St. Stephen Catholic Church, built in the classical style.
One of Velence’s outstanding cultural events in summer is the Velence Summer Evenings series, where visitors can enjoy highly successful musical performances, as well as brass band and majorette shows. In addition, the feast of St. John in June and the feast of St. Stephen in August promise to be great programs.
Velence is also called the “flower city”, as the city’s leadership and residents do a lot to decorate the town with plants and flowers to create a cultured, healthy environment. The greening initiative started in Velence in 1996; every year more than 50,000 flower seedlings are planted in parks, along roads, and in public spaces. In 2000, Velence was awarded the title of the most flowerfully decorated domestic town, and in 2001 it won the silver medal in the Europe in Bloom competition. Since then, the collection of trophies for flower planting achievements grows with new recognitions every year. As a token of appreciation for its achievements in greening, the city also received its “own” rose variety: a rose breeder named his new variety after Velence.
Velence – whose slogan is the “flower city” – strives to deserve the title “bestowed” by its residents, thus every year the arrival of the youngest is celebrated by planting new rose bushes. In 2003, uniquely in the country, the Baby Rose Garden was established where a rose bush is planted for each newborn of the locality by their parents. The garden has now almost turned into a grove, with more than five hundred rose bushes and nameplates marking Velence’s population growth.
A very beautiful tradition is intertwined with the “flower city,” and that is the “Rose of Velence” award, which was established in 2001 and is presented annually to those who do a lot for the town throughout the year.
The city surrounding the northeastern edge of Lake Velence, blessed with wonderful natural surroundings, welcomes visitors with many attractions. Lake Velence offers countless excellent opportunities for water sports, including water skiing, surfing, and rowing for water sports enthusiasts, as well as great options for anglers to indulge in their beloved hobby.
Nature lovers can enjoy marvelous walks to Bence Hill, from where they can enjoy a wonderful view. The panorama of Lake Velence and the surrounding settlements offers a breathtaking sight.
In such a wonderful natural environment, at the Velence Lake Rowing Course area, the MEOE Independent Association of Székesfehérvár warmly welcomes all interested parties, guests, and exhibitors with their dogs to the 2 x CACIB international dog show on this early summer weekend!
Below we would like to inform guests and families planning to attend the exhibition about the parking and entrance fees:
The amount of the parking and entrance fees is always determined by the Dog Breeders Association organizing the specific dog show, so we cannot precisely predict the exact numerical value in advance, only an estimated amount.
The parking fee can range between HUF 1000 and HUF 4000 (depending on which city the exhibition is held in).
The entrance fee varies, ranging from HUF 500 to HUF 2000 per person, but in most cases children and pensioners either do not pay at all or enjoy a greater discount.
