At the first CAC national exhibition of the month of August, we can participate thanks to the Ebtenyésztők Veszprém County Public Benefit Association (former MEOE Veszprém Organization). The Association won the right to organize the exhibition through a tender last year from the Hungarian Ebtenyésztők National Associations Federation (MEOESZ), which underwent significant restructuring. The national CAC exhibition will be held on August 3, 2014 in Herend on the beautiful Park Promenade area.
Dog owners and guests are welcome from 7:00 AM by the Ebtenyésztők for the exhibition. The exhibition opening will take place at 9:30 AM, and the judging will start at 10:00 AM. The Best In Show begins at 2:30 PM, with awards given similar to last year, where the 3 most beautiful dogs will receive valuable Herendi porcelain prizes alongside beautiful trophies.
Visitor programs during the exhibition:
The organizers of the exhibition targeted not only the exhibitors but also offer diverse and special programs for families and guests visiting the exhibition. From 12:00 PM, visitors can participate in dog demonstrations.
An interesting program is the Hobby Dog Beauty Contest starting at 1:00 PM, where purebred or mixed breed dogs without pedigree can parade, and entries can be made on-site. This contest mainly attracts dogs living as family pets.
In 2013, the exhibition was held for the first time in Herend, organized by the Veszprém County Association, with the main sponsor being the Herendi Porcelain Manufactory.
The BIS winners received fabulous porcelain plates offered by the Porcelain Manufactory along with the impressive trophies as gifts. The exhibition proved to be successful, with more than 600 exhibitors participating with their dogs and a large number of dog enthusiasts also attending. Based on last year, it is hoped that this year the Ebtenyésztők Veszprém County Public Benefit Association will also be able to present a similarly successful exhibition. We wish them much success!

The city of the dog show is Herend, which lies 14 km from the city of Veszprém, at the meeting point of the Northern and Southern Bakony, on the banks of the Séd stream, in a basin surrounded by hills. According to the earliest records, the area was inhabited in the form of smaller settlements already from the early 1300s, but its population growth dates to the 1700s, as confirmed by historical finds found here. At that time, the inhabitants lived from agriculture, viticulture, and logging.
In the 1820s in Herend the ceramic factory was established organized by Vince Stingl, which flourished in the 20th century. From the mid-1900s, in the post-war period, production at the porcelain factory increased significantly, and thus the settlement began significant development through its world-famous hand-painted porcelains, and by the end of this century Herend porcelain became known almost worldwide.
The settlement, also known as the "porcelain city," has now grown into Europe’s largest porcelain manufactory. The fabulous hand-painted Herend porcelain is a Hungarian specialty, part of Hungarian heritage. The Herend Porcelain Art Museum hosts more than 100,000 visitors annually.
In the Porcelanium belonging to the collection, visitors can take a behind-the-scenes look and get acquainted with the workshop secrets of porcelain making. The fabulous porcelains were originally commissioned for aristocratic castles, fortresses, mansions. As part of an annual traveling exhibition, enthusiasts can enjoy the beauty of porcelain in its original environment in restored domestic aristocratic castles.
The national dog show in Herend is held in the wooded Park promenade area. Everyone interested, guests, exhibitors with their dogs are warmly welcomed by the Dog Breeders’ Public Benefit Association of Veszprém County to Herend, to the Park promenade area for a high-standard CAC dog show!
