Visiting Makó on this May weekend in spring, we can participate in a multi-breed CAC national dog show organized by the Marosmenti Dog Owners Association (formerly the MEOE Makó Organization). The C.A.C show will be held on May 17, 2014 at a Makó location, in the green area of the Marosparti-Camping.

The former MEOE Makó Organization was a continuously developing organization in the past, counting more than 200 members in 2003. Unfortunately, the number of members began to decrease rapidly in the following years, reaching a low point in 2012 with 24 members. According to the Association’s president, the difficult economic situation developed in recent years has left its mark on dog activities and breeding, with many people quitting or aging out of this beautiful and often challenging but joyful sport.

The leadership of the Organization has set as a goal for the future to increase membership by involving the younger generation. They already welcome dog lovers from childhood to dog school, where experienced dog trainers assist and teach children and young people the language of dogs. The Association holds club evenings on Wednesdays at a usual location, where dog lovers, families, and members are invited for informal socializing.

In 2009, the Organization held a CAC dog show in Makó at Zuglóger. Following the successful exhibition, in 2012 the Organization was again granted the right to organize a CAC dog show by the parent Association.

As of January 1, 2013, the Organization became independent and continues its activities under the name Marosmenti Dog Owners Association. Among their main plans is the organization of dog shows. As the first step, they won the right to organize a CAC national exhibition from the MEOESZ last year.

The Marosmenti Dog Owners' Association organizes the CAC dog show at the Makó location. Makó, a small town located on the right bank of the Maros, has a population of about 27,000. In the 1800s, it was recorded as the 12th largest city in historic Hungary. The town's livelihood has been agriculture from the very beginning. In the 20th century, there was significant cultural life in the town, as József Attila, Juhász Gyula, and Ferenc Móra lived and created here. From the mid-1900s, the town's development stalled. The political change pulled the town out of this situation, and from the 1990s onwards, it started to develop rapidly.

Makó is diverse in terms of sights. Among its natural values, the most significant is its thermal water, whose effect together with medicinal mud can be a remedy for many ailments. However, what made the town world-famous is the Makó onion, which is now a trademarked Hungarian product and a hungarikum. Among its architectural values, the buildings designed and executed by Imre Makovecz stand out; they represent modern architecture and are defining structures of today's Makó.

After the political change, the town of Makó launched the "For a Flowering Makó" movement, aimed at encouraging residents to beautify their environment. As a result, in 2004, the town won the awards "Hungary's Most Flowering Town" and "European Silver Medal City."

The town offers nature lovers an exceptional opportunity to experience the sight and sounds of the forest, sense its scents, experience the world of tree crowns up close, listen to the songs of birds living in the trees, and admire them. By establishing and operating the treetop walkway educational trail, it offers this opportunity to every nature lover and even those unfamiliar with nature, families who can gain insight into the magical world of the forest, the trees, and the living beings and birds hiding among the branches of the tree crowns.

Below we would like to inform the guests and families planning to attend the exhibition about the parking and entrance fees:
The amount of the parking and entrance fees is always determined by the respective Dog Breeders' Association organizing the dog show, so we cannot give an exact numerical amount in advance, only an estimated sum.
The parking fee may range between 1000 HUF and even 4000 HUF (depending on which city the exhibition is held in).
The entrance fee varies and can range from 500 HUF to 2000 HUF per person, but in most cases, children and pensioners either do not pay at all or enjoy greater discounts.

Everyone interested, guests, and exhibitors with their dogs are warmly welcomed by the Marosmenti Dog Owners' Association at the end of May with a high-quality CAC dog show!
