The next CAC National Dog Show in the spring season can be attended thanks to the MEOE Pécs Independent Association on April 12, 2015. The venue for the C.A.C dog show this time is the Szentlőrinc Exhibition Center.
After the CAC show judging, the Schnauzer and Pinscher Club Show will also be held on the same site.
The Pécs Independent Association has a long tradition in organizing shows, as it has been organizing dog shows since the 1970s, including International shows for 15 years, which are held every 2 years.
The well-functioning Association was founded in 1947, operating as a former MEOE member association until 1997, and from the following year as an Independent Association. In the two decades after its foundation, the leadership was occupied with organizing dog-related activities, and the following decades brought professional and financial growth. The flourishing of dog activities also brought an active club life into the Association, which still operates prominently today.
The Association also runs a well-functioning dog school, offering obedience, discipline, and guard-protection sessions for dog owners. The sessions are supervised by certified master trainers, where an important aspect is the good relationship and harmony between the owner and the dog.
Important information about the 2015 CAC dog show is presented below.

The exact location of the National Dog Show is the Baranya County Entrepreneurial Center Exhibition and Event Center in Szentlőrinc, located 20 km from Pécs. The exhibition center has 2 halls of different sizes, in which numerous exhibitions and fairs are held every year, in addition, it has more than 30,000 m2 of outdoor area. The exhibition center traditionally hosts every year the Szentlőrinc Farmer Days agricultural and food industry trade exhibition and fair, as well as several other small animal exhibitions and fairs, horse shows, and competitions also take place there.
We recommend visitors to the exhibition to also visit the city of Pécs, a city with a 2000-year history, offering numerous famous sights to its visitors, and it is only 20 km away from the exact location of the dog show.
"Pécs is the southern city of the country/sometimes it’s warm here even in winter/Jakab Hill and the bend of Tettye/snowdrops bloom in January" – this is how Sándor Weöres describes Pécs, the city of international exhibitions. This Mediterranean atmosphere city has about 2000 years of history; its area has been inhabited since Roman times. Sopianae (as Pécs was called then) also played a central role in later historical periods. During the Turkish rule, it was transformed into a true eastern city, with many mosques and baths built over more than 150 years. This is reflected in the following quote from Mihály Babits: “Far, far the flat land spreads, where the corporal calls the line/far the important four towers, minaret and arch/far the smoking green tops of Mecsek renew/presenting at least a fresh wreath to the eye.” In Pécs, next to each other can be found the values of the Roman era, the Middle Ages, the Turkish occupation, Gothic, Renaissance, Baroque, Christian and Muslim buildings, houses, churches, prayer houses, and mosques.
The city of Pécs is attractive to visitors and tourists due to its historical and cultural values and unique intellectual life. The most well-known architectural and cultural heritage of the city is the Early Christian Burial Chambers of Pécs, which UNESCO declared a World Heritage Site in 2000. Among the religious memorials, the Synagogue holds a dignified place. The architectural ceramics development can be traced in the exhibition rooms of the Zsolnay Ceramic Collection. A special experience is also provided by a trip to the Porcelain Manufactory, where the legendary Zsolnay heritage can be admired up close. Located on Museums Street is the Modern Hungarian Gallery with its extremely rich exhibition, the Renaissance Stone Collection, the Vasarely Museum, and the Zsolnay Museum as well, which showcases the extraordinarily rich artistic work of the famous ceramics factory’s founder and his family.
The city is known across Europe for its rich artistic life, festivals, and artists. In Pécs, a multitude of cultural programs await guests looking for entertainment throughout the year. The Pécs Spring Festival, Rockmaraton, Heritage Festival, Pécs Dance Marathon, and Pécs Open-Air Plays are annual festivals attracting many visitors. In 2005, among countless cities of the European Union, Pécs was chosen (alongside Istanbul and Essen) as the Cultural Capital of Europe for 2010.
Among Pécs' natural attractions stands out the Pécs Zoo and Aquarium-Terrarium, located on the picturesque slopes of the Mecsek Mountains.
In the classically styled zoo, about 400 individuals of nearly 100 animal species from five continents live. In nearly 30 terrariums and aquariums of Pécs’ medieval cellar labyrinth, visitors can admire more than 100 animal species and 500-600 individuals.
Pécs' Mediterranean climate, vibrant cultural life, and exciting festivals attract many to the city with two thousand years of history. In 2010, Pécs was among the world’s 20 best travel destinations. In 2013, the New York Times also mentioned Pécs among the 50 most beautiful cities in the world.
All interested parties, guests, and exhibitors are warmly welcomed along with their dogs by the MEOE Pécs Independent Legal Entity Association in the spring buzzing month to Szentlőrinc for a well-organized CAC dog show.
