The right to organize the last all-breed CAC show of the spring season was awarded to the Kapuvár Dog Breeders Association by the MEOE Federation. The CAC national show will be held in Kapuvár, at the Kresz Park area on May 22, 2016.

The right to organize the last all-breed CAC exhibition of the spring season was won by the Ebtenyésztők Kapuvári Egyesülete from the MEOE Federation. The CAC national exhibition will be held in Kapuvár, on the grounds of Kresz-Park on May 22, 2016.

The former local Kapuvár Organization of MEOE has a 47-year history. After its establishment, the Organization operated as a sub-organization of the Győr Organization, then after 4 years, with continuous membership growth, it continued its activity as an independent Organization. This period was defining in the life of the Organization, the membership kept increasing and there was a time when their number reached several hundreds. Over the following years (up until the 1990s), the Organization successfully held several CAC dog exhibitions as well as breed shows.

Their dog school was also justly famous; among the school’s students was a dog that later proudly bore the title of World Champion. The dog school, at the current location, is considered one of the most beautiful schools in the county.

In 2011, the leadership of the Kapuvár Organization underwent significant changes, and in 2013, as the next step of renewal, it completely transformed and has since operated under the name “Ebtenyésztők Kapuvári Egyesülete.”

Attention!

Within the framework of the exhibition, a hobby dog beauty contest will also be held, in which purebred but unregistered and mixed-breed dogs can participate, and registration for which can be done on-site.

The city of the CAC national dog exhibition is Kapuvár, which lies at the meeting point of Rábaköz and Hanság and has a population of more than 10,000.

The city area has been inhabited since prehistoric times, with Celts, Romans, and Avars settling here before the migration period. The actual establishment of the settlement dates back to after the Hungarian conquest. In the storms of history, Kapuvár often fell into foreign hands, Ottoman troops frequently occupied it, and during the Rákóczi War of Independence, it became a battlefield and changed owners several times. In the 19th century, Kapuvár was granted market town status, but a few decades later it was deprived of this and reclassified as a village.

The city underwent rapid development in the 20th century, from the 1950s its industry and agriculture flourished, and as a result, it was granted city status in 1969. In the 1990s, a well-functioning industrial park, thermal bath, and holiday park were established in the city. Its monuments, churches, museum, the Kapuvár Castle, the exhibition house of the Fertő-Hanság National Park, as well as further sights attract many tourists.

The city's great treasure is the medicinal water springing from a depth of 1762 meters, supplied by high-yielding springs. The proximity and untouched nature of Hanság provides such microclimatic conditions that are completely unique. The thermal well owned by the city provides 67-degree thermal water of medicinal quality from a depth of 1800 meters, whose composition allows for wide-ranging use in therapeutic areas. The 67 °C thermal water of Kapuvár – classified as medicinal water – is considered by experts as top-quality water in Hungary, second only to Hévíz in recognition.

Kapuvár’s other wonder is the Kapuvár carbonic acid snow, which is used for the treatment of people suffering from peripheral vascular disease. Carbon dioxide gas breaking to the surface creates carbonic acid snow (better known as dry ice). Its healing effect was recognized by Dr. Pál Megyesi Scwartz, who was a district doctor in Mihályi from 1935. In 1940, by using unpurified carbonic acid snow, he produced artificial carbon dioxide gas in a bathtub and discovered that it effectively treats arteriosclerosis diseases. Encouraged by the success of these experiments, he later successfully applied it in the Kapuvár hospital for treating patients suffering from limb circulation diseases and rheumatism. His discovery is currently used at the Lumniczer Sándor hospital in Kapuvár. The therapy is based on -79 degree carbonic acid snow, which, when hot water is added, creates a milk-white carbonated mist that is one and a half times heavier than air and thus fills specially designed treatment bathtubs from bottom to top. The most important indications for the carbon dioxide gas bath are: chronic arterial disease of the limbs, chronic venous insufficiency, chronic lymphedema, circulatory disorders, rehabilitation treatment and performance enhancement for elite athletes. By repeating the bath treatment annually, the worsening of vascular disease and the development of complications leading to limb loss can most probably be avoided. The carbon dioxide gas bath also has a calming and performance-enhancing effect for healthy but overworked and exhausted people.

Nature lovers can also find opportunities in Kapuvár to indulge in their favorite pastime, as the city is surrounded on all sides by forests stretching 2-3 km, providing excellent opportunities for hiking and excursions to visitors.

The CAC exhibition is held on the premises of Kresz-Park, where the Kapuvár Dog Breeders Association warmly welcomes and awaits all interested visitors, guests, and exhibitors with their dogs!
