Organized by the Kapuvár Dog Breeders Association, we can participate in a CAC national dog show of all breeds on May 19, 2019, in Kapuvár. The venue of the show is the Kresz Park area (next to the Flóra Spa).
The organizing Association, the Kapuvár Dog Breeders Association
The former local Kapuvár Organization of MEOE has a 47-year history. After its establishment, the Organization operated as a sub-organization of the Győr Organization, then after 4 years, with continuous membership growth, it continued its activity as an independent Organization. This period was defining in the life of the Organization, the membership continuously increased and there was a time when their number reached several hundred. During the coming years (until the 1990s), the Organization successfully organized CAC dog shows and breed surveys on several occasions.
Their dog school was also rightly famous, a dog came from the school’s students who later proudly held the title of World Champion. The dog school is considered one of the most beautiful schools in the county at the current location.
In 2011, the leadership of the Kapuvár Organization underwent significant changes, and in 2013, as the next step of renewal, it was completely transformed and has since operated under the name "Kapuvár Dog Breeders Association".

Introducing the city of the dog show, Kapuvár
The national CAC dog show city is Kapuvár, which lies at the junction of Rábaköz and Hanság and has a population of over 10,000.
The area of the city has been inhabited since prehistoric times, with Celts, Romans, and Avars settling here before the migration period. The actual establishment of the settlement dates back to after the Hungarian Conquest. Throughout history, Kapuvár frequently fell under foreign control, was often occupied by Ottoman troops, and during the Rákóczi War of Independence became a battlefield and changed hands several times. In the 19th century, Kapuvár was granted the status of a market town but was later deprived of this status and reclassified as a village.
The city experienced rapid development in the 20th century, with its industry and agriculture flourishing from the 1950s, leading to it being granted city status in 1969. In the 1990s, a well-functioning industrial park, thermal bath, and recreational park were established in the city. Its monuments, churches, museum, the Kapuvári Castle, the exhibition house of the Fertő-Hanság National Park, and other attractions draw many tourists.
The city’s great treasure is the medicinal water rising from a depth of 1762 meters, fed by abundant springs. The proximity and untouched nature of Hanság provide unique microclimatic conditions. The city-owned thermal well supplies 67-degree medicinal quality thermal water from a depth of 1800 meters, whose composition allows a wide range of therapeutic uses. The 67°C thermal water of Kapuvár – which has medicinal water classification – is regarded by experts as top quality water in Hungary, second only to Hévíz in recognition.
Kapuvár’s other wonder is the Kapuvár carbonic snow, which is used to treat people suffering from peripheral vascular disease. Carbon dioxide gas rising to the surface forms carbonic snow (commonly known as dry ice). Its therapeutic effect was recognized by Dr. Megyesi Scwartz Pál, who was a district doctor in Mihályi from 1935. In 1940, using unpurified carbonic snow, he produced artificial carbon dioxide gas in a bathtub and discovered that it effectively treats arterial diseases. Encouraged by the success of these experiments, he later successfully applied this treatment at the Kapuvár hospital for patients with limb circulatory diseases and rheumatic conditions. His discovery is still used today at the Lumniczer Sándor hospital in Kapuvár. The therapy is based on -79 degrees carbonic snow, which when hot water is poured over it, generates a milky white carbonic mist that is one and a half times heavier than air and fills specially designed treatment bathtubs from bottom to top. The main indications of carbonic gas baths are chronic arterial disease of the limbs, chronic venous insufficiency, chronic lymphedema, circulatory disorders, rehabilitation treatment of elite athletes, and performance enhancement. Annual repetition of the cure can highly likely prevent worsening vascular disease and the development of complications leading to limb loss. The carbon dioxide gas bath also has a calming and performance-enhancing effect for healthy but overworked, exhausted people.
Nature lovers can also find opportunities in Kapuvár to indulge in their favorite pastime, as the city is surrounded in all directions by forests stretching 2–3 km, offering excellent opportunities for hiking and excursions to visiting guests.
