With the arrival of the colorful autumn, we can participate in the CAC national exhibition organized by the “Hírös” Hungarian Kennel Club Independent Association (formerly the Kecskemét Organization of MEOE) on September 27, 2015 in Kecskemét. The actual venue of the exhibition is the Benkó Zoltán Leisure Center green area. On August 26, 2015, Saturday, the II. id. László Fekete Memorial Rottweiler Show will also take place.
Looking back to the early 2000s, organizing dog shows has become a tradition in the life of the Kecskemét Kennel Club. The Association organized a double CACIB show for many years. After a few years' break, this show has been held as a CAC exhibition in 2008, 2010, and 2013. Last year, the traditionally early September show returned in the form of 2 x 1-day international dog shows. This year, the “Hírös” Hungarian Kennel Club Independent Association has won the right from the MEOE Federation to organize the CAC exhibition.
The important information about the 2015 CAC national dog show is introduced below:

The city of the CAC national dog exhibition is Kecskemét, which is the seat of Bács-Kiskun county and also the eighth largest city in Hungary. The "city of fame" combines historical traditions with modern ambitions. Its beautiful public buildings tell stories of past eras, and its museums and galleries hold significant cultural value.
One of the most beautiful town centers in the country can be seen in Kecskemét, where visitors are greeted by a series of notable buildings. First is the Art Nouveau style decorated with majolica decorations Town Hall building, whose facade bells play Kodály’s Vienna Bell Play and whose ceremonial hall is adorned by murals by Bertalan Székely. The richly decorated Cifrapalota building, adorned with colorful floral decorations and evoking the world of Hungarian folk tales, has a ceremonial hall that combines popular motifs of Art Nouveau into an impressive unity. Today, the building is the city’s art gallery, housing a precious collection of 19th and 20th century Hungarian painting.
The defining building of the Main Square is the Great Church, which is the largest Baroque-style cathedral in the Great Plain. Opposite the City Hall stands Kecskemét’s oldest architectural monument, the Franciscan Church. The monastery associated with the church was built by the Franciscans and today houses the Kodály Zoltán Institute of Music Pedagogy, which on its ground floor features a permanent exhibition presenting the life path of the famous composer. The name Kodály Zoltán is inseparably linked with the city. At the Kodály Zoltán School of Music and Singing, students are taught based on the renowned Kodály method.
Among Kecskemét’s famous natives, besides Kodály Zoltán, we must mention our playwright József Katona, whose name is preserved by the Katona József Theater, and the poet Sándor Petőfi, who lived and created in this city between 1828 and 1830.
Other Art Nouveau historical buildings of the city include the Old Church, also known as the Great Church, which for a long time was the model for churches in the Great Plain. The Lutheran Church, designed by Miklós Ybl and built in a romantic style. The cityscape is also organically completed by the Reformed Church, which carries multiple stylistic elements, as well as the Moorish-style former synagogue with an onion dome tower.
Among its sights, we must highlight the Kecskemét Wildlife Park, which is territorially the smallest zoo in the country. It was established in 1971 primarily to showcase native wild animals and indigenous Hungarian domestic animals. The earlier species composition has since significantly expanded, and today it represents all continents of the world through the wonderful specimens of 110 species and 400 individuals. The aim of the Kecskemét Wildlife Park is the conservation and enrichment of existing natural values.
Among the city’s natural attractions, the magnificent Kecskemét Arboretum stands out, abundant in natural beauty. The collection garden covers an area of 62 hectares and contains more than 900 different plant species and their varieties. With its significant plant collection, the Arboretum is a prominent element of Kecskemét’s green area. In the young plant collection, visitors can rest under the shade of tulip trees, magnolias, giant sequoias, oaks, and rubber trees. The youngest part of the arboretum is the oak collection, which on 16 hectares showcases Hungarian and some foreign oak types that tolerate dry conditions. Alongside educational trails, the arboretum welcomes visitors with a species playground, lookout tower, shelters, and a pergola.
The national dog show in Kecskemét takes place at the Benkó Zoltán Leisure Center, which, next to the Arboretum, forms an integral part of the city’s green zone. Half of the total area includes an artificial lake, and from the excavated soil, a 40-meter-high hill was built. On the remaining land, wooded and park-like areas have been created.
Everyone interested, guests, and exhibitors with their dogs are warmly welcomed to Kecskemét, to the green zone of the Benkó Zoltán Leisure Center, for the autumn-welcoming CAC national dog show by the “Hírös” Hungarian Dog Breeders Independent Association!
