Visiting Mosonmagyaróvár on this May weekend of spring, we can participate in a multi-breed CAC national dog show organized by the Mosonmagyaróvár Organization of Dog Breeders. The C.A.C show will be held on May 24, 2015 in Mosonmagyaróvár at the Riding Hall located on Kálnoki street.
The Mosonmagyaróvár Organization of Dog Breeders is a long-established canine organization, whose foundation dates back to the late 1960s. It was specifically founded at the end of 1968 with 12 members, then still under the name MEOE Mosonmagyaróvár Association. After the foundation, the leaders of the Organization started working with great enthusiasm, resulting in organizing a CAC dog show already in 1970. In the following decades, the Association successfully completed numerous breed assessments, dog sports events, and dog shows.
Since its foundation, high-level work has been carried out in the organization, mainly focusing on dog care, breeding, and training coordination. The goal of the organization is to promote cultured dog keeping in as many areas as possible, and to introduce families to correct dog care and education. For this purpose, the Mosonmagyaróvár Dog School and Kindergarten also does its best with its various training courses, which are available to everyone.
The Dog School helps dog owners with behavioral, socialization, and obedience training. Their colorful program offer includes clicker training courses and show preparation, as well as the popular dog sport sessions, such as agility, which attracts many enthusiasts. Almost every age group is represented among the school's students, but mostly young people and children. The sessions take place on Sunday mornings. The Mosonmagyaróvár Dog School also gladly participates in various events with discipline and guard-protection demonstrations, which are very popular among spectators. The events organized annually by the Association also attract many interested participants, such as the dog run, the summer dog camp, and the beauty contest for mixed-breed dogs.
The Mosonmagyaróvár Organization of Dog Breeders also maintains great traditions in organizing dog shows; having crossed into the 2000s, they have organized and successfully completed several CAC dog shows. This year, they have once again received the right from the mother association to organize a CAC show.
The Organizers welcome exhibitors and visitors from 07:00 am on the day of the show. The opening of the show starts at 9:30 am. Breed judging begins around 10:00 am in the rings. The Best In Show starts at 3:00 pm, where the winning dogs parade, and the most beautiful dog of the show is selected among them.

The city hosting the CAC dog show is Mosonmagyaróvár, which is the third largest city in the Győr-Moson-Sopron region and one of Hungary's 16 historic towns. Due to its geographic location, the city has always been an important economic, financial, tourism, transportation, industrial and commercial center throughout its history.
The city's history dates back to the Roman era, at which time it existed under the name Ad Flexum and functioned as a military base. In the following decades, this camp was destroyed in several parts, and on its ruins the medieval city was built. During the conquest period, the city became a county seat, and later a county capital. At that time Moson and Óvár functioned as two separate settlements. Moson's role significantly strengthened after the conquest, as it was referred to as a strong fortress and a busy trading town in chronicles of the 11th century. Development ceased in 1271 when the Moson fortress was destroyed to such an extent that rebuilding was no longer worthwhile, making Óvár the center of the county. Trade and industrialization contributed greatly to the development of Magyaróvár. Queen Elisabeth elevated Óvár to the rank of royal towns. During the Turkish occupation, it was plundered several times. While Magyaróvár evolved into the industrial and cultural center of the region, Moson was a large community inhabited by farmers and merchants. The two parts of the city merged in 1939, since when they have together formed the city of Mosonmagyaróvár.
Mosonmagyaróvár is categorized among historic towns due to its monument buildings, building complexes, and medieval street network. Of its individually protected buildings, 13 are nationally significant monuments. The Óvári Castle was built on the remains of a Roman settlement in the 13th century. After the Rákóczi War of Independence, the building, having lost its military importance, was converted into an agricultural higher education institute, whose legal successor today is the Faculty of Agricultural Sciences of the University of West Hungary. A museum of institutional history can be visited in the castle building. The town contains several baroque residential houses, including the oldest inn of the town, the Black Eagle Hotel and Restaurant. Among the significant baroque monuments is also the Statue of Saint John of Nepomuk. The town’s gothic jewel is the Cselley House, which houses the Hanság Museum’s industrial history exhibition, and in its cellar, the Roman Stone Collection is open to visitors. The Hanság Museum hosts a permanent exhibition presenting the history of the town and its surroundings. During a city walk, one can visit Catholic, Reformed, and Lutheran churches.
In 2012, Mosonmagyaróvár’s newest attraction, FUTURA, opened its doors. In the nearly 300-year-old former granary building, an interactive experience center was created where visitors can get closer to natural sciences through the four classical elements. FUTURA’s extremely exciting, experience-filled exhibitions invite both young and old alike to play and gain knowledge. Visitors to the region can also expect numerous other interesting programs, such as city tours, boat trips, horseback riding, bicycle tours, carriage rides, and guided tours in the picture gallery of the Mosonmagyaróvár museum.
Today, the town’s greatest treasure and attraction is its thermal water, which was declared medicinal water in 1967. This medicinal water is suitable for the treatment of rheumatic and musculoskeletal diseases, inflammations, respiratory disorders, and digestive problems. From the mid-1990s, significant investment started in the bath area, with the establishment of a hotel, restaurant, apartments, service, and medical departments. Today, all these can be enjoyed at a high standard by guests who wish to exercise, relax, and heal.
The specific venue for the dog show is the Máriakálnok Riding Hall area, where the Mosonmagyaróvár Dog Breeders’ Organization warmly welcomes all visitors, guests, and exhibitors with their dogs to a special and colorful CAC dog show!
Below we would like to inform guests and families planning to attend the exhibition about the parking and entrance fee amounts:
The amount of the parking and entrance fee is always determined by the Dog Breeders Association organizing the given dog show, so we cannot precisely predict the exact numerical value in advance, only an estimated amount.
The parking fee can range between 1000 HUF and even 4000 HUF (depending on the city where the show is held).
The entrance fee varies, ranging from 500 HUF to 2000 HUF per person, but in most cases, children and pensioners either do not pay at all or enjoy a greater discount.
