The MEOE Independent Organization of Nyíregyháza is organizing a CAC dog show on July 07, 2019 in Nyíregyháza. The new venue for the CAC dog show is the Nyíregyháza Kertvárosi Market area.

The Association organizing the show, the MEOE Independent Organization of Nyíregyháza

In 1957, a few enthusiastic dog lovers came together and formed an association to promote the keeping, breeding, and training of dogs, whether for hobby, show, or sport purposes, while also keeping in mind the promotion of Hungarian breeds.

The current active leadership consists of breeders and young working dog enthusiasts, who also work together to involve the younger generation in dog activities from childhood, to introduce children to responsible animal love and care. One of the best sources of this is the organization’s dog school operating at the training field on Kapor Street in Nyíregyháza, where dog-loving families, adults, and children meet, spend their time usefully, and learn together with their dogs under the guidance of trained instructors. The dog school’s motto is: “Caritate et patientia,” meaning with love and patience.

The dog school, which has been operating for more than a decade, currently runs successful obedience, guard-protection, and agility departments. Additionally, they undertake preparation for exams, competitions, and shows, and also try to provide meaningful help to the city’s problematic dogs. The dog school gladly participates in various events with obedience and guard-protection demonstrations, which are very popular among spectators.

They also organize joint family events. The most recent and largest such event in terms of attendance was the 2016 II. Nyíregyháza-Tokaj dog hike following the “Mária út” route, covering approximately 30 kilometers with more than 40 participants and 30 dogs.

Events coordinated by the Organization

The Independent Organization of Nyíregyháza has been continuously organizing dog shows for over 20 years. With the help of the active leadership and support of the membership, they have been able to organize a national (CAC) dog show almost every year after a successful international (CACIB) dog show, thanks to the recognition of their work by MEOESZ.

Last year, the Association celebrated its 60th anniversary, which they made even more memorable with a Jubilee CAC show.

The dog show attracts large crowds every year to the Sóstó Open-Air Museum Village, both visitors and exhibitors. The special location, friendly atmosphere, and pleasant weather all contribute to exhibitors loving to “dog together” and meet other dog-loving exhibitors. The unique atmosphere of the CAC dog shows organized by the Nyíregyháza Organization captivates both participants and visiting guests alike.

A special feature of the show is the awarding of the József Babicz memorial prize. József Babicz was the President of the Nyíregyháza Organization for many years. In addition, he spent over twenty years working with the German Shepherd breed, breeding and training them, and he also held a specialized judge's license for German Shepherds, successfully judging the breed at international shows. He passed away suddenly in 2008. From August 2011, his son, Csaba Babicz, took over the presidency of the Organization.

In 2016 and 2017, at the same time as the CAC dog show, the I. and II. Nyírség Cup open agility competitions were held, which not only added professional value to the event but also brought great public success thanks to the thousands of visitors.

Introducing the city of the dog show, Nyíregyháza

The city of the Dog Show is Nyíregyháza, which is the seat of Szabolcs-Szatmár-Bereg county and the 7th largest city in Hungary, also the economic and cultural center of the Nyírség region. The city, continuously developing since the 1990s, stands out from the cities of the eastern regions of the country also from a tourism perspective. Among its downtown sights, the most significant are the Town Hall, the Korona Hotel, the County Hall, the Zsigmond Móricz Theater, the Jósa András Museum, the Roman Catholic, Greek Catholic, Reformed and Evangelical churches, as well as the János Tuzson Botanical Garden, located on the campus of Nyíregyháza College.

The surroundings of the city also attract nature lovers. The Sóstói Park Forest, the City Park, and the area around Lake Bujtosi are visited annually by numerous hikers driven by their love of nature.

The Sóstói Spa promises a pleasant relaxation for visitors in every season, being a popular resting place for those who want to relax and heal.

The Nyíregyháza Zoo (Sóstó ZOO), located in the Sóstó holiday area, is the largest zoo in the country, where we can see 500 species and 5000 individuals in an environment similar to their natural habitats. The Nyíregyháza Zoo is located 5 km from the city, in the Sóstó holiday area, where a beach spa, village museum, and a park forest provide relaxation to visitors. The zoo is situated in a natural, almost undisturbed environment deep in an oak forest, integrating into the environment while leaving the natural treasures found there untouched. At the zoo, animals can be admired arranged by continent. The arrangement was intended to allow visitors to walk through the Earth and thus get to know the animal world of each continent.

The zoo considers habitat preservation important, therefore it collaborates with local nature conservation organizations in rescuing and healing injured individuals of protected and strictly protected species.

The zoo can show and teach something new to all age groups. Through their spectacular educational and cultural programs, they pay special attention to encouraging and teaching children to love animals.

Come and visit, the organizers are waiting for you with love!

All interested parties, guests, and exhibitors are warmly welcomed with their dogs by the MEOE Nyíregyháza Independent Organization on the 7th day of July with a colorful CAC dog show!
