The MEOE Pécs Independent Legal Entity Association is organizing a CAC national dog show in one of Europe's cultural capitals, Pécs, on April 7, 2019. The venue for the CAC dog show is the Exhibition Center of the town of Szentlőrinc, located 20 km from Pécs.
The organizing Association, the MEOE Pécs Independent Legal Entity Association
The Association was founded around 1947 and operated as a member association of MEOE until 2012, after which it continued as an Independent Legal Entity Association from the following year. During the two decades following its foundation, the management was engaged in organizing dog-related activities, which along with further decades, brought professional and financial revitalization for them. The flourishing of dog-related activities also brought an active club life to the Association, which remains a key aspect to this day.
The Association also operates a well-functioning dog school, offering discipline, obedience, and guard-protection sessions for dog owners. The sessions take place under the supervision of certified master trainers, with a key focus on the good relationship and harmony between the owner and the dog. The leadership of MEOE Pécs Independent Legal Entity and the master dog trainers warmly welcome dogs and their owners eager to learn to the various courses of the dog school.
The Pécs Independent Legal Entity Association has a great tradition in organizing shows, as it has been organizing dog shows since the 1970s, including international shows for the past 17 years, which are held every other year alternating yearly with national dog shows.

Introducing the city of the dog show, Szentlőrinc
The city of the CAC dog show is Szentlőrinc, which is located 20 km from Pécs at the confluence of the Bükkösd Valley, separating the Mecsek from the Zselic.
The settlement, originating from the Árpád era, was named after the Templar knights' commandery founded beside the Okor river. After the dissolution of the Templar order in 1312, it came into the hands of the Hospitallers. During the military campaigns and marches following the Battle of Mohács, it was set on fire several times. In 1550 and 1579, it was the town of Saint Lawrence, the center of the Szentlőrinc district in the Ottoman administration centered in Pécs. From the first decade of the 18th century, Szentlőrinc became a manorial center. By mid-century, it had become one of the seats of the estate complex of Prince Miklós Esterházy. From 1773, Szentlőrinc was granted district headquarters status. During this period, the administrative, jurisdictional, health, commercial, and public education institutions of the large village were established.
The favorable geographical location, transportation conditions, and the expansion of its economic-administrative role have caused the continuous growth of the settlement's population. Trade has been significant in the settlement since the construction of the railway lines. Its passenger and freight traffic elevated Szentlőrinc to a commercial hub. The war years represented a break in the settlement's development, but by the beginning of the 20th century, despite this, the population exceeded 2,000, and by the end of the decade following World War II, it rose above 3,000. The population of the large village doubled in two decades and is approaching seven thousand.
From January 2004, Szentlőrinc became a district center, gradually assuming administrative, authority, health, educational, and cultural responsibilities for the twenty settlements belonging to its district.
Among the sights of Szentlőrinc, we must mention the Esterházy Castle built in 1718, which is currently under monument protection but was neglected for a long time. It was renovated in 2006 and has since been functioning as the town hall.
The settlement's first school was built in 1795, expanded and reconstructed multiple times. It took its present form in 1907 and is also under monument protection. It was renovated again a few years ago and since then has functioned as the cultural center.
The Catholic Church, built in Baroque style in 1718, features a remarkable holy water font made from a converted Turkish basin. Its organ is the work of József Angster from Pécs.
The Reformed Church of the small town was built in a rather rare architectural style in the country (Transylvanian fortress church). Construction began in 1935, and it was consecrated in 1937.
The city's cultural offerings include the annual Lőrinc Day event series starting on August 10th, the Lőrinc Day fair, and the Farmer Days, held since 1994. Farmer Days is now the most significant agricultural exhibition and fair in Baranya county, attracting agricultural producers, processors, and traders from the county and the country, as well as increasing numbers of foreign exhibitors and visitors. This event series offers a pleasant weekend program not only for professionals but also for visiting families.
The National Interclub and the International Ballroom Dance Team Competition are traditionally held annually, providing a very enjoyable program for both locals and guests.
The venue for the Jubilee CAC Dog Show is the Baranya County Entrepreneurial Center Exhibition and Event Center, which covers an area of 81,000 m². The Center includes covered exhibition halls and grassy open spaces. Parking lots are directly connected to the area, and full internet access (WIFI coverage) is ensured.
Come and visit too, the organizers warmly await you!
Every visitor, guest, and exhibitor with their dogs is warmly welcomed along with a colorful CAC dog show by the MEOE Pécs Association on April 7th in Szentlőrinc, at the Baranya County Entrepreneurial Center Exhibition and Event Center.
