In the hottest month of the hot summer, on July 12, 2014, thanks to the MEOE Szombathely Independent Legal Organization, the Evening CAC National Dog Show is being held for the first time in Szombathely. The venue of the Evening CAC show is the air-conditioned rings of the Aréna Savaria Sports and Event Hall.
The MEOE Szombathely Organization held its first dog show in 1968, which was followed by many other shows over the years. Their Dog Training School also started operating the same year. At that time, the Association worked with an enthusiastic core team realizing the principle of “Together – For each other”.
The Association operated as a MEOE member Organization for a long time, then a few years ago, in 2000, it became an independent legal entity, like many other MEOE member Associations.
At the well-functioning dog school of the MEOE Szombathely Independent Legal Association, dogs and their owners learn together in various courses, such as obedience and guard-protection courses, as well as preparation for work examinations; furthermore, they also welcome dogs and their owners aged between 3 and 8 months to the dog kindergarten.
Paying tribute to dog training and dog sport, a new dog sport center started operating in the city last September. In addition to the already traditional trainings, team sports such as flyball and agility have been introduced, which build on agility and the harmonious relationship between the dog and its owner.
The leadership of the Association was renewed in 2012 and among their future goals is to promote the unity of the dog-owning community. As can be read, the words of the Association’s President – “Let us set an example together in thinking, compassion, and selfless, unselfish animal love.” In light of these thoughts, all dog-loving owners and exhibitors are invited to the evening CAC dog show for a great time together with their dogs.

The venue of the Esti CAC national dog show is Szombathely, known in Latin as Savaria, which is Hungary’s oldest founded city and is often called the Queen of the West. Its population is over 80,000.
Walking through the streets of Szombathely, you can experience the intertwining of Roman times and modern life, from the world radiating a millennia-old atmosphere into the present.
The city, rich in historical and cultural traditions, is characterized by a dynamically developing tourism industry and a multitude of festivals held in the city, such as the Savaria dance competition, International Bartók Festival, Savaria carnival, as well as numerous international fairs.
Besides Szombathely's rich sights and colorful program opportunities, the natural features and landmarks of the surrounding area also make excellent destinations for hikers.
The city's parks, the Historical Theme Park, the Boating Lake, the Lake Bath, the Vas Museum Village, and the Kámon Arboretum are popular excursion sites.
Among its natural sights, we must mention the Kámoni Arboretum located on the bank of the Gyöngyös stream, which is the country's largest, 27-hectare botanical garden, containing tree and shrub species from temperate and cold climates.
In the Kámoni Arboretum, alongside more than 1000 conifer species, there are also 2000 broadleaf tree species. The pride of the garden every year is the magnificent Rhododendron bushes showcasing 50 varieties, which make the garden most complete during their May blooming.
The Vasi Open-Air Museum presents the peasant lifestyle of old times as well as folk architectural culture. The Open-Air Museum opened its doors in 1973, successfully rebuilding 43 structures from 27 settlements on its grounds. The introduction of native Hungarian domestic animals and regular tradition-preserving programs complete the life of the Open-Air Museum.
Here is a short video about the city of Szombathely:
This year, the national dog show welcomes dog lovers and guests at a new location. The climate-controlled halls of the Aréna Savaria Sports and Event Center provide an ideal opportunity to hold the Evening CAC exhibition. On its approximately 6-hectare sports hall area, there are two large halls designed for events and shows. In addition, Aréna Savaria has 1500 m2 of asphalt and grassy outdoor areas, which serve as ideal venues for outdoor events.
Numerous exhibitions, fairs, conferences, congresses, festivals, concerts, theatrical performances, balls, sports events, and cultural programs are held annually in the halls and outdoor areas of Aréna Savaria, attracting many visitors.
This year, for the first time, the Aréna Savaria Sports and Event Center welcomes exhibitors and their dogs to its air-conditioned and carpeted halls for the exhibition.
Below, we would like to inform guests and families planning to attend the exhibition about the parking and admission fees:
The amount of the parking and admission fee is always determined by the dog breeding association organizing the specific dog show, so we cannot precisely indicate the exact numerical value in advance, only an estimated amount.
The parking fee may range between 1000 HUF and up to 4000 HUF (depending on the city where the exhibition takes place).
The admission fee varies, ranging from 500 HUF to 2000 HUF per person, but in most cases, children and retirees either pay nothing at all or enjoy a significant discount.
All interested parties, guests, and exhibitors with their dogs are warmly welcomed by the MEOE Szombathely Independent Association in Szombathely, at the Aréna Savaria Sports and Event Hall for a great evening CAC national dog show in the hottest months of the hot summer!
