The Bull Terrier Breed Meeting successfully took place on Sunday, August 10, 2014. You can read a kind report about this meeting conveyed by András Korsós, owner of the "Independent" bull terrier kennel and also the main organizer of the event.
Many breed enthusiasts and bull terriers gathered at the "Happy" dog school, where on Sunday, August 10, 2014, the event called "Bull Terrier Breed Meeting 2014" was held. The day was characterized by a friendly atmosphere, love for the breed, commitment, and fun. You could almost feel in the air that everyone here was a lover of the bull terrier breed.
Along with friendly conversations and acquaintances, the dogs played, ran, and had a great time in the enclosed running area. Meanwhile, their owners watched them with love and smiles, as I guess it’s no exaggeration to say it was like watching their children at a playground. Breed lovers treat their bull terriers as equal family members. The lovers of the breed adore them beyond their status as dogs. To them, they are not just dogs, they are true family members.
One of the goals of this meeting was to showcase the breed to interested parties in its true nature. At the gathering, the breed was represented from 3-month-old puppies to 6-year-old adults. Several competed in the agility contests, not only against each other but also against time. The fastest run to the owner was set by Kira with a time of 02.87 seconds, alongside the smallest Thézeusz who surprisingly finished ahead of Magic with a time of 23.35 seconds. Magic, who prefers flowers instead, arrived at the finish line 5 seconds later than the puppy. There were also sprinting, wandering, and ambling dogs.
Similarly smiling was the agility game that, in addition to the usual obstacle course, offered participants another opportunity to showcase their bull terrier’s unique or outstanding traits. Thus, Zora, who introduced herself with balloon headbutting followed by a desperate search for the popped balloon, won this round. Second place was taken by Kira, who, despite the warm weather, steadfastly performed her task spinning in the air. In third place was Maci, who demonstrated an equally interesting performance drinking while lying down.
The most beautiful white and most beautiful colored dog were also selected, judged similarly to the above, not according to the usual standards of dog shows, as it did not matter one bit here how much of a champion someone was. The essence was the sparkle in their eyes, the captivating face, the smile, or the cuteness factor.
The event ended with a raffle where, alongside various offerings (horse riding, collar, leash, massage), bull terrier souvenirs also found owners.
Bull Terrier Breed Meeting, which provided a truly pleasant experience for all participants, and we think everyone was sufficiently tired, both owners and dogs alike. The organizers (Independent kennel) promise that next year they will aim for a much bigger, much better, and much more memorable event.”
