The National Federation of Hungarian Dog Breeders' Associations announces a 3 x CACIB International Dog Show for all breeds in the city of Komárom.
The Komárom Dog Show is a series of International Dog Shows lasting 3 days, held between June 6 and 9, 2014, with one CACIB show each day. The international dog show series organized by MEOESZ in Komárom has become traditional, as it has been held for many years both at the beginning of summer and in the autumn season. The venue for the first international summer shows is the famous architectural masterpiece, the Monostori fortress.
The uniqueness of the 3 x CACIB show for exhibitors in 2014 only:
- a young dog that becomes junior class winner (earning the HPJ title) on all three days will automatically receive the Hungary Junior Champion title, that is
3 x HPJ = Hungary Junior Champion.
- an adult dog that wins the class winner CAC title in its class on all three days will automatically receive the Hungary Champion title, that is
3 x CAC = Hungary Champion.
- a veteran dog winning the CAC title in the veteran class on all three days will automatically receive the Hungary Veteran Champion title, that is
3 Veteran CAC = Hungary Veteran Champion.
Dog owners and guests are welcomed to the show from 7:00 AM. The opening ceremony will take place on Saturday at 10:00 AM, and the judging will begin at 10:30 AM. On Sunday and Monday, judging will start at 10:00 AM. The Best In Show will start at 3:00 PM each day.
Visitor programs during the exhibition:
The organizers of the exhibition did not only target exhibitors with the event, but also offer diverse and special programs for families and guests attending the show.
We can admire the special abilities of dogs in the framework of dog sports programs, notably the Frisbee Championship and Weight Pulling competition.
As spectators, we can participate in the various Dog School demonstrations, culminating in the Dog Schools Olympics.
The already traditional Hobby Dog Beauty Contest also promises to be an interesting program, where purebred dogs without pedigree and mixed breeds can participate and registration is possible on-site. This contest mainly attracts dogs living as family pets.
Besides the various dog sport programs and demonstrations, a real rarity will be the presentation by Viktória Hamza, Horse Whisperer.
The first Komárom cooking competition will also begin during the exhibition.
The organizers have also thought of children, with a playhouse waiting for children present at the event all three days.

The location of the International Dog Shows is the city of Komárom, which lies on the eastern edge of the Little Hungarian Plain and on the right bank of the Danube, with a population of nearly 20,000 inhabitants. Komárom is a busy border town as well as a cultural and tourist center. Among its sights, the most significant are the Reformed Church located in the city center, the Roman Catholic Church, the Turul statue, and the Komárom Thermal Bath, which owes its uniqueness to the mineral-rich medicinal water emerging from a depth of 1268 meters.
The western part of the city is famous for its natural beauties, here is also the WF Leisure Park, which offers numerous recreational opportunities for visitors in a picturesque environment. The Leisure Park hosts outdoor concerts, festivals, all-day family programs, exhibitions, and competitions.
A significant tourist attraction of the city is the Komárom fortress system, whose Hungarian members are the Monostori Fortress, the Igmándi Fortress, and the Csillagerőd. The Klapka György Museum is located in the Igmándi Fortress, whose permanent exhibitions prominently include the Roman Stone Collection and exhibitions presenting the history of the Hungarian Navy.
The Monostori Fortress – which also serves as the venue for the international dog show – is the largest modern fortress in Central Europe, built between 1850 and 1871. The most advanced architectural techniques of the time were applied in the construction of the Monostori Fortress, but by the time it was completed, it had become militarily obsolete. Its military function ceased long ago; today it serves as a tourist attraction and as a venue for various programs.
You can watch a more detailed history of the Komárom fortress system in the video below:
You can watch a video made about the Monostori Fortress here:
Below we would like to inform guests and families intending to visit the exhibition about the rates of parking and admission fees:
The admission fee for the Komárom CACIB dog show is uniformly 600 HUF for children and pensioners, and 1000 HUF for adults.
The parking fee to the outer parking lot is 900 HUF, and to the inner parking lot next to the rings is 1500 HUF.
The Hungarian National Federation of Dog Breeders warmly welcomes all interested parties, guests, and exhibitors with their dogs to Komárom, to the Monostori Fortress for the 3 x CACIB international dog show from June 6 to 9, 2014!
