The right to organize the first national CAC exhibition of 2015 was won by the Ebtenyésztők Nógrád Megyei Egyesülete (former MEOE Salgótarjáni Szervezete) from the Hungarian Federation of National Dog Breeders’ Associations (MEOESZ). The national CAC exhibition has been traditionally held for years on the area of the Tó Beach on March 29, 2014.
The former Salgótarján organization held its first dog exhibition in the early 1990s. After this exhibition, a long time had to pass before organizing the next dog show. In the second half of the 2000s, specifically in 2007, the renewed organization planned to organize another C.A.C dog exhibition. As the first step of this, in May 2008, the organization had the opportunity to organize a Regional Dog Exhibition from the then Hungarian National Dog Breeders’ Association, at which dogs could compete in the rings by breed for the titles Salgótarján Beauty and Salgótarján Champion. The organization had a successful dog exhibition in 2008. Hoping for this, they trusted they could soon receive the right to organize a CAC exhibition. This period came for the organization in 2010, so in the most beautiful month of the spring season, in May, they organized a high-quality exhibition at the Tó Beach with many beautifully entered dogs. After the successful 2010 exhibition, the organization was also able to organize the 2012, 2013, and 2014 (also season-opening CAC) exhibitions, and in 2015 as well, they organized a national CAC exhibition. After the season-closing 2013 CAC exhibition and last year's season-opening CAC show, this year, too, the organization can hold the season-opening CAC exhibition.

The city of the CAC dog show is Salgótarján, which is the largest city of Nógrád county and the second smallest county capital in Hungary. The city lies in a narrow valley at the meeting point of the Karancs, Medves, and Cserhát mountains.
The name Salgótarján dates back to the Hungarian conquest era, but its significant past goes back only about 150 years. The modern history of Salgótarján began in the mid-20th century with the discovery of brown coal, when the settlement rose from unremarkable peasant villages. Brown coal mining began around 1850 on the future city’s nearby Inászó plain, making Salgótarján almost naturally the center of coal mining and related industry. The city became the county seat in 1950, starting city construction; the most significant phase of this ongoing development began in the early 1960s with the reconstruction of the outdated city center. The economic boom also dates to this period and continued until the regime change. From the second half of the 2000s, a city beautification program was launched, aiming over the next 20 years to create a more beautiful, better, and livable city.
Among the sights of Salgótarján, we must mention the churches, of which there are plenty in the city, a total of 7: 4 Roman Catholic, one Greek Catholic, one Reformed, and one Evangelical. The tourist attractions can be found in the northern part of the city, the museums and museum buildings in the heart of the city, while the southern part of the city is still dominated by industrial plants.
The most well-known and popular tourist attraction of Salgótarján is the ruin of Salgó Castle, which rises above the city to the north, on a 625-meter-high rocky peak above the settlement of Salgóbánya.
Information about its past can be obtained from the artifacts brought to light and contemporary documents. Its early core, the thick old tower, was built on the hilltop by the Kacsics landowner family at the end of the 13th century. The Turkish conquerors easily captured the castle in the autumn of 1554, which the royal army took back after a strong siege 40 years later. The victors blew up its walls, the conservation of which is still ongoing today. It is a very popular excursion spot among tourists.
Among its natural sights, we must highlight the Wildlife Park, which covers 19 hectares and is located in Somoskő. In the enclosed forest areas, a total of twenty-one large game native to Nógrád—fallow deer, roe deer, wild boar, and mouflon—have been provided with homes in a natural environment. Visitors can observe the animals from seven lookouts and the walkways.
The specific venue of the CAC dog show is the Lake-Beach, which has been hosting the high-quality exhibition year after year.
The Ebtenyésztők Nógrád County Association welcomes all interested parties, guests, and exhibitors with their dogs with love to the spring season's opening CAC exhibition in Salgótarján at the Lake-Beach area!
Below, we would like to inform guests and families intending to attend the exhibition about the rates of parking and entrance fees:
The amount of the parking and entrance fees is always determined by the Dog Breeders Association organizing the respective dog show, so we cannot specify the exact numerical values in advance, only an estimated amount.
The parking fee can range between HUF 1000 and HUF 4000 (depending on the city where the exhibition is held).
The entrance fee varies from HUF 500 to HUF 2000 per person, but in most cases, children and pensioners either pay nothing at all or enjoy a greater discount.
