The Euro Dog Show this year welcomes the most beautiful dogs to Warsaw between October 11 and 14. The world event coincides with the anniversary of the founding of the host of the exhibition, the Polish Kennel Club. The ZKWP celebrates all this with a 4-day show, hoping that the EDS will be memorable for exhibitors from 61 countries around the world as well as for the visitors of the event.
“The Polish Kennel Club is celebrating its 80th anniversary this year! It is a true honor and great pleasure for us to host dog lovers within the framework of such a grand event during our jubilee year. Our Kennel Club has already had the opportunity to organize the Euro Dog Show in the more distant past; in the year 2000, more than 9,000 dogs from European countries gathered in the city of Poznan. As a result, six years later Poznan welcomed dog lovers back with a world event. The 2006 World Dog Show showcased more than 20,000 dogs from all over the world. Both of our events were very successful, and breeders and exhibitors still remember them fondly to this day.” – With this warm introduction, Euro Dog Show spokesperson Jaroslaw Bukowiecki invites dog lovers, exhibitors, and breeders to the grand event!

Poland, the country of Renaissance castles and natural beauty
Poland hides special beauties in the heart of Europe. To the north, the Baltic Sea, and to the south, the picturesque mountain range of the Tatras frame this country, which is rich both in natural sights, beautiful cities, and kind people. After the medieval treasures of Kraków and Gdańsk and the bustling metropolis of Warsaw, the fresh-air regions of rivers and lakes, mountains and valleys, fairy-tale castles resting on hilltops, elegantly crafted wooden churches and open-air museums in the mountainous areas offer pleasant rest and exciting adventures of discovery.
Poland’s former capital, Kraków, is living history itself. The gothic city center, almost perfectly preserved, has only become more beautiful over the centuries with Renaissance, Baroque, and Secessionist buildings. The former seat of the Polish kings today houses 11 universities, 6000 historical monuments, and 35 museums, promising unforgettable experiences with its lively cultural life. A visit to Poland is truly completed by getting to know Polish cuisine: dishes made from local ingredients with a homely flavor are as delicious as grandma’s cooking.
Warsaw, where old traditions blend with the spirit of the modern age
Warsaw has been the capital of Poland since 1596. Its age and size may not compete with other European capitals, but its beauty is undeniable, and it has another characteristic: indestructibility. The city – which has suffered terrible destruction many times throughout history – each time rose again like a phoenix from the ashes. Most recently during World War II, when the city suffered under both German and Soviet actions, with 85% eventually destroyed. After the war, Warsaw was rebuilt, and the most important buildings of its historic old town were restored. The Old Town, the historical center and heart of the capital, was restored almost from the ground up with such devoted care that – as the only city reconstruction of its kind in the world – it was added to UNESCO’s Cultural World Heritage list.
Warsaw has always been known as a charmingly exciting and vibrant city, both in the past and today. Regardless of various historical turning points, it has always carried the characteristic features typical of Western European capitals. The secret of its uniqueness lies in the very characteristically youthful spirit that has prevailed for centuries until today. In Warsaw, old and new merge – both in its spirit and cityscape: on one hand respecting traditions, on the other rapidly advancing into the future.
In the city today, almost every style and era of European architecture can be found, including Gothic, Renaissance, Baroque, and Classicist, although not much remains from 19th-century bourgeois architecture. The Polish capital has numerous palaces and parks. Particularly noteworthy sights include the Old Town Market Square and the townhouses around the square, the Royal Castle, the Barbican bastion, as well as the Gothic St. John's Cathedral. Along the Royal Route leading from the Old Town are valuable churches and palaces, including the Church of the Holy Cross, which houses the urn containing Chopin's heart in its main nave. The two palace parks form a complex: the royal Łazienki Park – the summer residence of the last Polish king – and the Baroque Wilanów – the country residence of King John III Sobieski. In the city center stands the tallest building of the capital – the Palace of Culture and Science – a gift from the Soviet Union. From the viewing terrace on the 30th floor of the Palace, one can admire the panorama of the capital and its surroundings.
Warsaw is also Poland's largest cultural, scientific, and artistic center. More than 220,000 students study at the capital’s 20 public and 35 private higher education institutions and several dozen scientific institutes. It is a city of youth. Cultural and artistic institutions such as the opera house, chamber opera, operetta theater, the music academy, 28 theaters, 35 museums, and 60 fine arts exhibition halls are filled with interested visitors.
Warsaw hosts numerous cultural events, the most important being the Jazz Jamboree, the Warsaw Autumn Poetry Festival, the Mozart Festival, and the Fryderyk Chopin International Piano Competition held every five years.
Warsaw is one of the most livable major European cities, largely thanks to the fact that 40% of its area consists of green spaces, parks, and lakes. There are 82 parks in the city, among which the most notable is Łazienki Park, while the oldest is the Wilanów Garden. The city itself is also surrounded by numerous forests inviting hiking and excursions. Anyone visiting Poland – Warsaw – should expect to return home a few kilos heavier and rounder, as Polish gastronomy is excellent. Its great variety is primarily due to the mixture of Slavic and other foreign influences (German, Hungarian, Jewish, etc.); their culinary art is rich and hearty.
