“I saved a person today…”

Our eyes met as he walked down the shelter corridor and peered anxiously into my kennel. I immediately felt that he was sad, that he needed me, and I absolutely had to help him.

Hopeful, I wagged my tail to show him that he didn’t have to be afraid of me. When he stopped in front of my kennel, I threw myself onto my back in the cage to attract his attention. It took a long time, but I succeeded.

He stood before me, began reading my life story, and I could only hope that he wouldn’t be too sad because of my past.

I am only waiting for the future, because I want to make someone’s life special. While thinking about these things, he crouched down and sent me a big kiss through the bars. In response, I pressed my shoulder and face against the bars to cheer him up.

He gently stroked my neck, then offered his friendship. A tear rolled down his cheek, to which I responded by raising my paw to assure him that everything will be alright.

Soon the door of my kennel opened and I saw him approaching me excitedly. His smile was so radiant and sincere that I immediately jumped into his arms.

And I promised him that he will be safe with me.
And I promised him that I will never leave him.
And I promised him that I will do everything to see that radiant smile on his face and the sparkling light in his eyes every day.

I was so lucky that he walked down my corridor.
There are many people who have not yet walked these corridors.
There are many people who still need to be saved.
At least I was able to save one.

I saved a person today…”

Encouraging our readers to responsible pet ownership and love for animals, if you feel a calling to walk down these corridors yourself and to be chosen by a shelter’s orphaned dog just like this, do not hesitate to visit one of the animal shelters in Hungary!

Then you too may be lucky enough to be saved by a similarly kind-hearted, sweet, and friendly dog like the one you just read about. And he will surely promise you that you will be safe with him! And you can be as happy as you read in this story. And then you can say that a dog saved you today. A dog with whom you can live a shorter or longer period in complete harmony, joy, happiness, love, and, in the best case, health as well.

Finally, take this good advice:

If you don’t have the option to buy a puppy from a “real” breeder and spend a larger amount on purchasing a dog, visit one of the animal shelters, animal homes, or breed rescue organizations in Hungary and adopt a dog from them, whether a puppy or an adult. A dog who can be your happy companion for 5, 10, or even 15 years.
We wish you good luck with this!
