On the last Sunday of the last month of the summer period, August 28, 2016, we can participate in a 2 x CAC national dog show organized by the MEOE Székesfehérvári Autonomous Organization in Velence, at the Velence Rowing Course area.
Two CAC shows in one day. According to the dog show program, we can attend the first CAC dog show starting at 09:00 in the morning, and the second CAC show starting at 14:00 in the afternoon.
The organizing body, the MEOE Székesfehérvári Autonomous Organization, has almost every year since crossing the year 2000, obtained the right from the MEOE Federation to hold dog shows. In the years 2008 and 2010, the Organization was able to hold CAC shows, while in the years 2007, 2009, 2010, 2011, 2012, and 2015, it earned the right to hold 2 x CACIB international shows. In 2013, they doubled, because after the 2 x CACIB shows held at the Székesfehérvár Bregyó-cozy Camping area, a month later the Organization also organized and managed the Velence Lake CAC national dog show.
This year's "water" dog show will be held for the fourth time, since this show was first organized by the MEOE Székesfehérvári Autonomous Organization in 2013, for the second time in 2014, and for the third time in 2015.
Similar to last year, this year too dog breeders warmly welcome dog owners and visiting guests to the shore of Lake Velence for the morning and afternoon dog shows with quality programs and various entertainment options.
We present below the most important information about the 2016 2 x CAC national dog show!

The video recording of the BIS program of the 2013 I. Velence Lake CAC dog exhibition by Ebugatta television is available for viewing:
The city of the 2 x CAC national dog show is Velence, which, as the gateway to Lake Velence, is one of Hungary’s popular resorts and the resort town of the country’s second largest lake. Velence is famous for its well-maintained parks and for the fact that wherever visitors walk in the city, they can see flowers that delight the heart and soul everywhere.
It is no coincidence that it is said, “Velence, the city of flowers,” the city’s leadership and residents do a lot to decorate the city with plants and flowers to create a cultured, healthy environment. The city started its greening initiative in 1996; every year more than 50,000 flower seedlings are planted in parks, along roads, and in public spaces.
In 2000, the then large village Velence became the winner of the Flowering Hungary competition. The aim of the competition is to assist the creation of a cultured, environmentally friendly, welcoming urban image, the aesthetic appearance of the settlement, decoration with plants, the establishment of a cultured, healthy environment, the flowering of public spaces, streets, buildings, and institutions with the involvement of the residents. Since then, every year the collectors of the “trophies” of greening have added new recognitions. The city became a European silver medalist a year later, and a few years later it was the most dynamically developing settlement in Hungary in its population category. In recognition of the achievements in greening, the city also received its “own” rose variety: a rose breeder named a new variety after Velence.
After the placements won in the Flowering Hungary and Europe competitions, the yellow rose named Velence Rose was created. A very beautiful tradition intertwines with the “city of flowers,” which is the “Velence Rose” award, founded in 2001, and given annually to those who do a lot for the settlement throughout the year.
The Babák Rose Garden is uniquely connected to Velence. In the city, the rose festival is traditionally held in October, when the families plant a rose bush in the Babák Rose Garden to celebrate the arrival of the young residents of Velence. In 2009, 62 rose bushes welcomed the arrival of newborn or a few months old children. By now, the garden has almost become a grove, with over five hundred rose bushes and nameplates marking the population growth of the city of Velence.
Among the sights of Velence, we must mention the nearly three and a half centuries old Reformed Church preserving memories of the distant past, and the 200-year-old Catholic Church named after Saint Stephen, which was built in 1830 in a classical style based on the designs of József Hild.
Other valuable sights from the past include the now ruined Meszleny Castle, a heavily altered, single-story building. The 18-room house with its associated park belonged to the Meszlény family until 1945, then became state property in 1948. It operated as a special education institute for 20 years until a new building was constructed in Velence. It became private property in 1992 and has been awaiting renovation ever since.
Velence is also rich in cultural events. The series starts with the traditional May Day, then continues towards the end of May with the three-decade-old St. Urban Hill Festival. The Velence Summer Musical Evenings held in July and August feature highly successful musical performances at the Castle Park Stage that has been operating for more than fifteen years, while the performance series connected to the birthday of the city of Velence entertains those who wish to cultivate themselves and relax with international folk dance nights and spectacular musical programs.
Grapes have been cultivated in the settlements of the Velence Hills since the early Middle Ages. The highlight of the programs organized around the cult of wine is the Saint Urban's Day hill festival held every year since 1984 at the end of May. From the event's gastronomic and cultural offerings, every member of the family can find something enjoyable: parade of wine guilds, majorette show, market fair, exhibitions of folk and applied artists, presentations by local winemakers, wine tasting, and a street party on Saturday night enrich the program.
The gateway to Lake Velence, the lakeside building and its surroundings play a defining role in the tourism of Velence and the Lake Velence region. The offer includes a sandy free beach, a new marina with a pedestrian bridge, covered and open promenades, a playground, event space, shops and service facilities, and a bike path, enabling the extension of tourism throughout the year.
The city surrounding the northeastern end of Lake Velence welcomes visitors with wonderful natural surroundings and a multitude of sights. Lake Velence offers countless excellent opportunities for water sports, attracting water sports enthusiasts with water skiing and surfing options, but there are also chances for kayaking, canoeing, and sailing in the area, as well as great opportunities for anglers to indulge in their beloved sport.
Several kilometers of promenades and bike paths stretch along the lakeside and through the city. Wonderful walks can be taken on Bence Hill, from where beautiful views open up over Lake Velence and the surrounding settlements, whose panorama provides a breathtaking sight.
The venue of the exhibition is the Velence Rowing Track area, where the MEOE Székesfehérvár Independent Legal Entity Organization warmly welcomes all interested parties, guests, and exhibitors with their dogs on the 28th day of the last month of summer with two high-quality dog shows!
