Thanks to the MEOE Székesfehérvár Independent Organization we can participate in a 2 x CACIB international dog show on June 10 and 11, 2017. The location of the 2 x CACIB international dog show has changed, this year the exhibition will be held at the Agárd public beach located on the shore of Lake Velence.

The management of the MEOE Székesfehérvár Independent Organization consists of breeders and working dog handlers who work together to involve younger generations in dog keeping from childhood, to introduce children to responsible animal love and animal husbandry. The Organization's dog school is one of the best sources for this, where dog-loving families, people, and children meet and learn together with their dogs. The dog school assists dog owners with behavioral, socialization, and obedience training, teaching the school's students to handle dogs with love and patience. In addition, guard and protection training, preparation for working exams and shows, and the popular dog sport, agility, also attract many enthusiasts. The activities can be attended in groups or individually.

Since crossing into the year 2000, the MEOE Székesfehérvár Independent Organization has almost every year earned the right to organize dog shows. It was able to hold CAC shows in 2008, 2010, and 2016, while in 2007, 2009, 2010, 2011, 2012, and 2015 it was able to organize 2 x CACIB international shows. In 2013 and 2014 it doubled its efforts, as after holding the 2 x CACIB shows at the Székesfehérvár Bregyóköz Camping site, the Organization also organized and managed the Velence Lake CAC national dog show one month later. This year, the Organization was again given the opportunity to organize the 2 x CACIB international dog show.

The 2012 Székesfehérvár CACIB dog exhibition Ebugatta TV recording can be watched here:

This year, the venue for the 2 x CACIB international dog exhibitions is Agárd, which is the oldest and perhaps the most well-known resort on Lake Velence, a suburban-style holiday and leisure center. Agárd is a district of the town of Gárdony, home to the famous Pop Strand, Gárdonyi Géza Memorial House, and the Gárdonyi Log Castle.

The first written record of Agárd dates back to 1193, when Béla III granted part of it to the convent of the crusader knights of Székesfehérvár (monastery settlement). Courtiers lived in the royal part, which Béla IV donated to the provostship of Csút in 1264. Over the following centuries, it had many owners, including the Nádasdy family from the early 1850s until 1930. The holiday area began to develop with the land allocation by the Nádasdy family, with a pre-designed, regular street network. At a county meeting held in 1930, a decision was made about developing the bathing life along the entire southern shore of the lake. Agárd's conditions were judged more favorable for building the villa colony, while Gárdony was more suitable for shops and workshops. Thanks to this, Agárd rapidly developed in the 1930s. 1,500 parceled holiday plots were sold, named the Nádasdy Bath and Holiday Colony. From the 1930s until the end of World War II, more than 700 holiday homes were built in Agárd, but after the war, its development stalled and only picked up again in the 1960s. By the 1970s, Agárd had become one of Hungary's best-known tourist destinations.

Agárd's main attraction – besides the beaches – is the medicinal thermal water. Thermal water at 50°C was discovered at Agárd’s southern border, in Bika Valley, and a thermal bath was built in 1984, which was developed into a medical center in 2004.

Near the bath in Agárd stands the famous Agárd Pálinka Distillery, where spirits distilled from the region's flavorful fruits are made. The cellars of the Velence Lake Wine Route in Agárd offer distinctive wines to visitors.

The Agárd Pop Strand, known for its light music events and with over 30 years of history, enriches the program selection with a colorful concert palette, being one of the best-known summer meeting places for domestic pop and rock bands. It is the largest open-air stage in the region with a long tradition and human scale—a beautiful, waterside, grassy natural environment, with a giant 2.2-meter-high stage where everyone can see everything! The dance beach’s free-entry retro parties further enhance the Agárd experiences. Today, the Agárd Popstrand welcomes guests with a youthful lifestyle not only in summer but also on winter weekends. The Agárd Popstrand Ice Rink is currently Hungary's largest ice rink suitable for sliding and skating.

The town’s famous native is Géza Gárdonyi. He adopted his last name in honor of his birthplace, where he spent his childhood. The building housing the memorial house since 1988 is also the birthplace of Géza Gárdonyi. In the interconnected rooms of the house, visitors can get acquainted with documents, photographs, and memorabilia from the writer’s life. The exhibition presents the main stages of Géza Gárdonyi’s life and the outstanding values of his literary work. Alongside his diary and the finest editions of his works, a few original, personal items can also be seen. Visitors can learn about his creative methods, literary career, and get a glimpse into his special secret writing. The building also features a kitchen furnished with period tools and furniture. The Géza Gárdonyi birthplace and the descriptions on the walls bring closer Gárdonyi’s life and work.

Next to the Géza Gárdonyi Memorial House is the Velence Lake Gallery. This new art center functions as a cultural institution that preserves and creates values, serving as a space for creation and exhibition.

The Gárdony Log Castle, a small-scale replica of the Eger Castle, was built next to the birthplace of Géza Gárdonyi. The facility, modeled after the Eger Castle, welcomes adventure-seeking guests with open gates and colorful programs. The Log Castle may contribute to preserving the memory of heroic resistance similarly to Géza Gárdonyi’s novel The Stars of Eger.

Wandering around the castle, visitors get closer to the era and the people of that time; the novel's events become more vivid after adventures in the log castle. The Gárdony castle captain guides visitors through the castle and the casemate system, and of course, they gain insight into the life of the defending knights!

The natural values of the town are faithfully represented by the István Chernel Birdwatching Station, built between 1957-59 by Jenő Radetzky. Its purpose is to teach young people, entertain visitors, and educate about nature conservation. Alongside researchers, it gladly welcomes children and other interested visitors during the summer holidays.

The town’s largest event is the Velence Lake Fish, Game, Wine, and Pálinka Festival held on the first weekend of May, whose special programs attract thousands of guests.

Lake Velence offers numerous excellent opportunities for water sports, welcoming water sports enthusiasts with water skiing and surfing options, but there are also possibilities for kayaking and canoeing in the area, and anglers are offered great opportunities to indulge in their beloved sport.

Boat trips are also available from the beginning of spring to late autumn, departing from Agárd and touching uniquely named clearings and reed beds.

The venue of the exhibition is the Agárd free beach area, where the MEOE Székesfehérvár Independent Organization warmly welcomes all interested visitors, guests, and exhibitors with their dogs on June 10th and 11th with two high-quality international dog shows!
