The MEOE Association announces an international dog show with 3 x CACIB for all breeds in the city of Komárom, which will be held on October 20th, 21st, and 22nd, 2017. The venue is the famous architectural masterpiece, the Komárom Monostor Fortress area.
The autumn multi-day CACIB dog show held in Komárom can be defined every year as one of the largest dog events, attracting many exhibitors both domestically and internationally.
The prestige of the show series is further enhanced by the fact that on the second (Saturday) day of the three-day Komárom CACIB, Crufts qualification can also be earned (in all breeds, in both junior and adult categories, the most beautiful male and female qualify for the grand Crufts Dog Show to be held next March).
On Sunday, October 22nd, 2017, the traditionally held Derby CACIB will take place. Every dog born in the calendar year prior to the show and having received an excellent rating in the junior, intermediate, open, working or champion classes can compete for the title of Hungária Derby Winner by breed and sex. For the Best Derby title, the judge will compare the two derby winner dogs by sex.
On Sunday, instead of the Junior Best in Show, the Derby Best in Show will take place as follows in the Best in Show program:
The Most Beautiful Derby Dog of the Komárom Derby CACIB Show (Derby BIS)
The title is selected from all the dogs that have won the Best Derby title from all FCI breeds, ranked first, second, and third place, with recall by breed group.
Further news about the 3 x CACIB Dog Show:
- any young dog that becomes junior class winner (HPJ) on all three days automatically receives the Hungária Junior Champion title, meaning
3 x HPJ = Hungária Junior Champion.
- any adult dog that wins the CAC winner title in its class on all three days automatically receives the Hungária Champion title, meaning
3 x CAC = Hungária Champion.
- any veteran dog that wins the CAC title in the veteran class on all three days automatically receives the Hungária Veteran Champion title, meaning
3 x Veteran CAC = Hungária Veteran Champion.
It will also be possible to request the Champion certificate on site. The price of the special Champion diploma is 12,000 HUF, regardless of whether the exhibitor requests it on site or at a later date.
The venue of the international dog show series organized by the MEOE Association in Komárom is also considered traditional, as for many years the famous architectural masterpiece, the Monostor Fortress area, has hosted this event.

The video by Ebugatta Television about the BIS program at the Komárom Crufts Qualifying CACIB International Dog Show held in October 2013 can be viewed:
The venue of the International Dog Shows is the city of Komárom, which is located on the eastern edge of the Little Hungarian Plain and on the right bank of the Danube, with a population of nearly 20,000 inhabitants. Komárom is a busy border city as well as a cultural and tourist center, and thanks to its excellent location, it was already a significant economic and strategic center of our small country in the distant past. Life in the area was organized around the Komárom fortress system. The Treaty of Trianon not only changed the national border but also rearranged the boundaries of the city. One half of the split city lies within Hungary’s border, while the other part remains in Slovakia to this day.
Among Komárom’s sights, the most significant are the Reformed Church located in the city center, the Roman Catholic Church, the Turul statue, and the Komárom Spa, which owes its uniqueness to the mineral-rich healing water springing from 1268 meters deep.
The western part of the city is famous for its natural beauty; here is the WF Leisure Park, which offers numerous recreational opportunities to visitors in a picturesque environment. The Leisure Park hosts outdoor concerts, festivals, all-day family programs, exhibitions, and competitions.
A significant tourist attraction of the city is the Komárom fortress system, whose Hungarian members include the Monostor Fort, Igmánd Fort, and Csillag Fort. The Klapka György Museum is located in Igmánd Fort, whose permanent exhibitions prominently feature the Roman Stone Collection as well as exhibitions presenting the history of the Hungarian Navy.
The Monostor Fort – which also serves as the venue for the international dog show – is the largest modern fortress in Central Europe, built between 1850 and 1871. The construction of Monostor Fort applied the most advanced architectural techniques of the era, but by the time it was completed, it had become militarily obsolete. Its military function has long ceased, and today it serves as a tourist attraction and a venue for various programs.
You can learn more about the history of the Komárom fortress system in the following video:
The Hungarian National Federation of Dog Breeders warmly welcomes all interested parties, guests, and exhibitors with their dogs to Komárom, to the Monostor Fort, on October 20th, 21st, and 22nd, 2017, for three pleasant and high-quality CACIB shows!
