At the first CAC exhibition of the summer season, thanks to the Füredi Dog Breeders Association, we can participate on June 18, 2017. The CAC national dog show will be held in a wonderful natural environment, in the park of the Kemény Castle in Tiszafüred.
The former MEOE Tiszafüred Association was founded in 1990, and then went through rapid development in the following years. Thanks to this, they were given the opportunity to organize CAC dog shows by the parent association in both 2007 and 2011.
In 2014, the Association underwent significant reorganization, and the 2015 CAC dog show was held with renewed energy and rejuvenation, and based on the successes of that event, they will again organize a CAC dog show this year. We wish them good luck and much success with this!

The city of the CAC dog show is Tiszafüred, located at the edge of the Hortobágy, in the heart of the Northern Great Plain region, a town on the banks of the Tisza. Tiszafüred is the largest settlement and the tourist center of the Tisza Lake region, and therefore the city is often referred to as the "capital of Tisza Lake."
The history of Tiszafüred dates back to 4500 BC according to contemporary archaeological finds. The earliest findings also testify to this. Later on, archaeologists found valuable artifacts from the time of the state foundation during excavations on the outskirts of Tiszafüred, including a settlement and a related cemetery from the Árpád era. The settlement was first mentioned as Tiszafüred in 1273. Between the 1500s and 1700s, the town became uninhabited five times. From the end of the 18th century for more than a century, it served an important role as a market town. From 1833, it embarked on significant development; a bridge was built over the Tisza and the road network also began to develop. In 1849, Tiszafüred briefly became the seat of Heves and Outer Szolnok counties. Rapid development came to an end due to World War I, and the town also lost its market town status at that time. Socialist industrialization had a beneficial effect on the town, which had lost momentum; a shipyard and crane factory, as well as an aluminum factory and pharmaceutical packaging facility, were established in Tiszafüred. Due to a growing population and territorial expansion, it was declared a city in 1984. After the closure of factories in the early 2000s, the town's economy collapsed. Nowadays, Tiszafüred is gradually transforming from a former industrial town into a tourist-service center. Its tourist attraction is enhanced by a rich program offering as well as the country’s first floodplain adventure park.
Among the sights of Tiszafüred, we must mention the Kiss Pál Museum, founded in 1877, which has a rich local history and ethnographic collection and has been housed in the classicist style Lipcsey mansion since 1953. Another monument of the city is the Nyúzó Gáspár Potter’s Folk House, built in the second half of the 19th century, where those interested in folk art can learn about the long-famous pottery of Füred. The Folk House also functions as a museum; its permanent exhibition in the classicist-style residence of potter master Nyúzó Gáspár showcases the working and living conditions of potters with the help of original furnishings and creations.
The city has two churches. The Reformed church is a protected Baroque building with a 6-story tower and gallery. Next to the church is a classicist style parsonage. The Roman Catholic church, built between 1819 and 1827 also in classicist style, was consecrated in honor of the Assumption of Mary, with some altar paintings dating from the mid-19th century.
Among the beautiful sights of Tiszafüred is the Kemény Castle, built in 1920 in a neobaroque style, furnished with period furniture, and which, as a property of the Hortobágy National Park, is located in the Tiszafüred Castle Park area. The castle currently operates as a guesthouse and is not open to the general public. The castle park, protected since 1980, is aesthetically enhanced by the poplars, maples, junipers, and thuja trees lining the road leading to the castle. This wonderful castle park also serves as the specific venue for the CAC dog show every year.
Among its natural attractions, we must mention the Tisza Lake Bird Reserve, which is a nesting and breeding site for migratory birds and part of the Hortobágy National Park. One of the reserve’s most valuable habitats is the heron colony. The poplar and willow groves serve as nesting grounds for the goshawk and black stork, and cranes, fishing eagles, and mute swans regularly migrate through the area. The Tisza Lake Bird Reserve is a strictly protected natural treasure, included among the internationally recognized waterfowl habitats. The hidden gems of the Tisza Lake, waiting to be discovered with countless beauties, are most gladly revealed to those who want to explore it from some kind of watercraft.
The Tisza Lake’s Tiszafüred region has been protected since the establishment of the Hortobágy National Park, and more than half of the approximately 7000 hectares serve the purposes of ecotourism. The city and its surroundings are a favorite place for guests seeking a peaceful natural environment. Visitors have the opportunity to ride horses, participate in horseback tours, and join cycling tours along the Tisza. Those who admire this landscape surely fall in love with it and return year after year.
Everyone interested, guests, and exhibitors with their dogs are warmly welcomed by the Füredi Dog Breeders Association on June 18th at a well-organized CAC dog show.
