The Békéscsaba Youth and Sport Dog Association received the opportunity from the MEOE Federation to organize 2 x CACIB dog shows this year. The 2 x CACIB dog shows will be held on October 06 and 07, 2018, in Békéscsaba, at Csaba Park.
The organizing Association, the Békéscsaba Youth and Sport Dog Association
The former MEOE Békéscsaba Organization already held CAC dog shows in the early 1990s. The venue of the 1993 national show was also the park of the Póstelek Castle, which can be seen even from the cover of this old catalog.
From the early 2000s, the venue of the show was moved to the area of the City Sports Hall. The year 2011 was a turning point, when the show was once again held in the Póstelek Castle Park. In recent years, the venue has alternated between the Póstelek Castle Park and Csaba Park.

Introducing the city of the dog show, Békéscsaba
The city of the CAC dog show is Békéscsaba, which is the seat of Békés county and Hungary's 12th most populous city, an important road and railway junction.
According to archaeologists, Békéscsaba was established in the first half of the 13th century. The settlement is first mentioned in the papal tithe register of 1332-1337. During the Turkish times, the city resisted for a long time, first suffering damage during the Fifteen Years' War, and then later throughout the 17th century. However, during the liberation wars against the Turks, it became completely depopulated. According to recent research, its population did not perish completely but fled. In 1703, the Serbs burned down the village, making it depopulated again. In 1840, Békéscsaba was granted the status of a market town. By 1858 the railway line reached the city, and development accelerated with new houses and factories being built. The great economic depression between the two world wars brought poverty and unemployment, and in 1925 a huge flood devastated the city. From the 1960s onwards, systematic industrialization began, poultry processing and the printing industry also flourished. The city has now passed the low point and is still developing.
Thanks to its parks, flower-decorated squares, and charming promenades, Békéscsaba is among the most livable cities in the country. Due to its centuries-old buildings, events, and the natural values of the surrounding area, more and more tourists visit the city every year.
One of the most atmospheric parts of the city is the Élővíz canal, which starts from the Fehér-Körös River and flows into the Kettős-Körös. Along its banks lies Széchenyi Park, where, in the "Music Pavilion" building erected in 1850, a new ecotourism visitor center awaits nature lovers.
Among Békéscsaba’s most beautiful historic buildings are the Fiume Hotel built in the 19th century, the Jókai Theater, and the Town Hall. The symbol of the city is the Evangelical Great Church and the historic Evangelical Small Church built in 1745.
Békéscsaba offers high-quality gastronomic and cultural events year-round for visitors. The Csabai Sausage Festival, held every October, has grown into one of the country’s most prestigious gastronomic events. The series of programs is enriched year after year with supplementary cultural and entertainment events, as well as pig slaughter festivities, but the real attraction remains the sausage making, which is attended every time by a whole host of national celebrities. Other major outdoor events of the city include the Csabai Beer Festival and Knuckle Parade, as well as the Békéscsaba Lecso Festival.
Come and visit too, the organizers warmly welcome you!
The venue for the dog shows is Csaba Park, where in early October the Békéscsaba Youth and Sport Dog Association warmly welcomes all interested parties, guests, exhibitors, and their dogs with two high-quality CACIB dog shows!
