The East-Hungarian Dog Breeders Association announces a 2 x CACIB dog show with all breeds on April 14 and 15, 2018 in Debrecen. On both days, we can participate in a CACIB international dog show on the premises of the Agricultural Science Center of the University of Debrecen.
The organizing Association of the show, the East-Hungarian Dog Breeders Association
Local organizations were established in the 1960s, initially under the name Hajdúsági- and Debrecen Organization. In 1967, the hunter, guard-protection, and work departments were established, and within the Association, these trainings as well as the training of guide dogs also began. In 1990, the Association became an Independent Legal Entity, and nowadays it is regarded as the largest Association by membership numbers. Besides organizing the two major shows (2 x CACIB and the night CACIB), the Association also holds two to three work tests and breeding tests annually, with ongoing training in the guard-protection, hunter, and agility departments.
The MEOE Debrecen Independent Legal Entity Association underwent a name change. From 2017 onwards, it operates under the name East-Hungarian Dog Breeders Association.
The CACIB international dog shows organized by the East-Hungarian Dog Breeders Association have a long tradition. Since the 2000s, the Association has held this grand, two-day dog show nearly every year, enchanting exhibitors with its pleasant atmosphere (together with the night CACIB dog show, which is even more magical in the dim lighting).

Introducing the city of the dog show, Debrecen
The venue of the 2 x CACIB international dog show is Debrecen, which is Hungary's second largest and most populous city, as well as the cultural, economic, tourism, and transportation center of Eastern Hungary. Today, it is considered one of the fastest developing cities in our country.
Debrecen is often referred to as the Calvinist Rome or the city of citizens, which in the 1300s gained the status of a market town, and in the 1600s acquired royal city status and has twice been the capital of the country. Its history has been intertwined with the Reformation for centuries, as indicated by many historical relics, including Kossuth Square, the Memorial Park and the Great Forest Sculpture Park.
Among its sights, the city's symbol stands out, the 19th-century classicist-style Great Reformed Church, which is the largest Reformed church in the country and where the chair of Lajos Kossuth is preserved as a relic. The building is located in the heart of the city, at Kossuth Square, behind which is the Reformed College operating since the 1500s, whose prestige was established by its famous teachers and students. The College's great library, with a collection of half a million volumes – including rare books – is registered as the largest collection of the Reformed Church in Hungary.
Next to the College is the building of the Déri Museum, built in the Neo-Baroque style. In its most famous part, the Munkácsy Hall, two works of Mihály Munkácsy's world-renowned Christ Trilogy are on display.
Another landmark of the city center is the prestigious Aranybika Hotel, which is the country's oldest and still operating hotel, the Main Square, which in its center features the city's coat of arms made of glass mosaic, as well as the classicist style Town Hall building, which is one of the most beautiful.
Among the city's rich cultural offerings, the colorful and wonderful Flower Carnival on August 20th, the Jazz Days, the Poetry Festival, and the Summer University events stand out.
The city's most popular tourist event is the unique Flower Carnival in Europe. For the spectacle related to the coronation of the state founder Saint Stephen and the celebration of new bread, hundreds of thousands come to the city. The main event of the week-long series, the Flower Carnival, is becoming more spectacular every year, and participants can see fairy-tale beautiful flower compositions, whose magnificent scent is not negligible either. In addition, high-quality, entertaining programs, concerts, dance performances, children’s programs, as well as fireworks as the highlight of the day await the families and guests attending the Flower Carnival.
The Zoo, which has been welcoming visitors since 1958, can provide true relaxation for families. Over the nearly 60 years that have passed, the area of the Zoo has continuously expanded, and today it can be said that a park conforming to EU standards has been created, where families and guests can see about 1,500 specimens of 165 species from 5 continents.
The conditions for the species living here provide significantly greater welfare and better well-being than before. The area, along with its 341 plant species found here, has been under nature conservation protection since 1994.
Among Debrecen’s natural sights, the Great Forest stands out, which has been Hungary’s first nature reserve since 1939, expanded with a zoo, amusement park, and botanical garden, whose original flora is identical to that of the Great Forest. The arboretum features around 8,000 plant species, including many tropical rarities, as well as the European-famous cactus collection representing 2,000 species and 10,000 plants.
Come and visit, the organizers warmly welcome you too!
The venue of the dog shows is the area of the Agricultural Science Center of the University of Debrecen, where every visitor, guest, exhibitor with their dogs is warmly welcomed with two atmospheric dog shows by the East-Hungarian Dog Breeders Association.
