The MEOE Federation announces a 3 x CACIB international dog show for all breeds in the city of Komárom, which will be held on October 19th, 20th, and 21st, 2018. The venue is the famous architectural masterpiece, the Komárom Monostori Fortress area.

The MEOE Association announces an international dog show with 3 x CACIB for all breeds in the city of Komárom, which will be held on October 19th, 20th, and 21st, 2018. The venue is the famous architectural masterpiece, the area of the Komárom Monostori Fortress.

About the dog show

The autumn multi-day CACIB dog show held in Komárom every year can be defined as one of the largest canine events, attracting many exhibitors both domestically and from abroad.

The series of shows gains even greater prestige from the fact that on the second (Saturday) day of the three-day Komárom CACIB, the Crufts qualification can also be achieved (in every breed, in both junior and adult categories, the most beautiful male and female qualify themselves for the grand Crufts Dog Show to be held in March of the following year).

On Sunday, October 21, 2018, the traditional Derby CACIB show will take place as usual. For the title of Hungária Derby Winner, dogs born in the calendar year preceding the show and which have received excellent ratings in one of the junior, intermediate, open, working, or winner classes can compete by breed and sex. For the Best Derby title, the two derby-winning dogs by sex are compared by the judge.

In the Best in Show program on Sunday, instead of Junior Best in Show, the Derby Best in Show will be held as follows:

The Most Beautiful Derby Dog of the Komárom Derby CACIB Show (Derby BIS)

The title is selected from all dogs that have achieved the Best Derby title in all FCI breeds, ranked first, second, and third place, with group calls by breed.

Further news about the 3 x CACIB Dog Show:

  • a young dog which becomes junior class winner (HPJ) on all three days automatically receives the Hungária Junior Champion title, meaning

          3 x HPJ = Hungária Junior Champion.

  • an adult dog which earns the class-winning CAC title in its class on all three days automatically receives the Hungária Champion title, meaning

          3 x CAC = Hungária Champion.

  • a veteran dog which earns the CAC title in the veteran class on all three days automatically receives the Hungária Veteran Champion title, meaning

3 x Veteran CAC = Hungária Veteran Champion.

It will also be possible to apply for the Champion certificate on site. The price for the special Champion diploma is 12,000.- HUF, regardless of whether the exhibitor applies for it on-site or at a later date.

The venue of the international dog show series organized by the MEOE Association in Komárom is also considered traditional, as for many years the famous architectural masterpiece, the Monostori Fortress area, has hosted this event.

Introducing the city of the dog show, Komárom

The venue of the International dog shows is the city of Komárom, located on the eastern edge of the Little Hungarian Plain and on the right bank of the Danube, with a population of nearly 20,000. Komárom is a busy border town, as well as a cultural and tourist center, which, thanks to its excellent location, was already a significant economic and strategic center of our small country in the past. The life of the area was organized around the Komárom fortress system. The Treaty of Trianon not only changed the country's borders but also rearranged the city's boundaries. The divided city’s one part remains within Hungary’s border, while the other part is still located in Slovakia.

Among Komárom's sights, the most significant are the Reformed Church and the Roman Catholic Church located in the city center, the Turul statue, and the Komárom Spa, which is exceptional due to its mineral-rich medicinal water that springs from a depth of 1268 meters.

The western part of the city is famous for its natural beauty and is also home to the WF Leisure Park, which offers numerous recreational opportunities to visitors in a picturesque setting. The Leisure Park hosts open-air concerts, festivals, all-day family programs, exhibitions, and competitions.

A major tourist attraction of the city is the Komárom fortress system, whose Hungarian members include the Monostor fortress, the Igmánd fortress, and the Csillag fortress. The Klapka György Museum is located in the Igmánd fortress, with permanent exhibitions featuring highlights such as the Roman Stone Collection and displays on the history of the Hungarian Navy.

The Monostor fortress – also serving as the venue for the international dog show – is the largest modern fortress in Central Europe, built between 1850 and 1871. The construction of the Monostor fortress employed the most advanced architectural techniques of the era, but by the time it was completed, it had become militarily obsolete. Its military function has long ceased, and nowadays it serves as a tourist attraction and a venue for various events.

You can learn more about the history of the Komárom fortress system in the following video:

Come and visit too, the organizers await you with open arms!

The Hungarian Federation of National Associations of Dog Breeders warmly welcomes all interested parties, guests, and exhibitors with their dogs to Komárom, at the Monostor fortress on October 19th, 20th, and 21st, 2018, for 3 pleasant and high-quality CACIB exhibitions!
