With the arrival of the multicolored autumn, on September 2, 2017 we can participate in a 2 x CAC national dog show organized by the Hírös Hungarian Dog Breeders Independent Association in Kecskemét, at the Benkó Zoltán Leisure Center.
Two CAC shows in a single day. According to the planned program, the first CAC dog show starts at 9:00 AM, while the second CAC show begins at 1:00 PM.
Looking back from the early 2000s, organizing dog shows has become a tradition in the life of the Kecskemét Dog Breeders Association. The Association organized dual CACIB shows for many years. After a few years' break, this show was held again as a CAC show in 2008, 2010, 2013, and 2015. In 2014 and 2016, the traditionally early September show returned in the form of two single-day international dog shows. This year, the Association has won the right to organize a double CAC show from the MEOE Federation.
Programs:
The organizers expect both exhibitors and visitors from 6:30 AM on the day of the show.
The show officially begins with a ceremonial opening at 8:45 AM.
The judging in the rings starts at 9:00 AM.
The afternoon CAC judging begins at 1:00 PM.
From 4:00 PM starts the morning CAC Best In Show program, where breed winners compete for the title of the most beautiful dog of the show. Meanwhile, competitions for young handlers, dog pairs, and breeding groups are also held.
From 5:30 PM starts the afternoon CAC BIS program.
From 7:00 PM the Super Junior Best In Show and Super Best In Show events take place.
We wish all visitors a pleasant time and good entertainment! We wish exhibitors good weather, safe travel, good luck, and much success!

The city of the CAC national dog exhibition is Kecskemét, which is the seat of Bács-Kiskun county and also Hungary’s eighth largest city. The “famous city” combines historical traditions with modern aspirations. Its beautiful public buildings tell stories of bygone ages, and its museums and galleries hold significant cultural value.
One of the most beautiful town centers in the country can be seen in Kecskemét, where a series of notable buildings welcome visitors. First is the Art Nouveau style Town Hall building decorated with majolica ornaments, on the facade of which bells play Kodály’s Viennese bell play, and whose ceremonial hall is adorned with murals by Bertalan Székely. The ornamented Cifrapalota (Ornamented Palace) building, adorned with colorful floral decorations and evoking the world of Hungarian folk tales, has a ceremonial hall that combines popular motifs of Art Nouveau into a spectacular unity. Today, the building is the city’s gallery, housing a valuable collection of 19th and 20th century Hungarian paintings.
The defining building of the Main Square is the Great Church, which is the largest copf style cathedral built in the Great Plain. Opposite the Town Hall stands Kecskemét's oldest architectural monument, the Franciscan Church. The monastery connected to the church was built by the Franciscans and today houses the Kodály Zoltán Music Pedagogical Institute, whose ground floor hosts a permanent exhibition presenting the life of the famous composer. The name of Zoltán Kodály is inseparably linked to the city. At the Kodály Zoltán Singing and Music School, students are taught based on the principles of the world-famous Kodály method.
Among the famous natives of Kecskemét, alongside Zoltán Kodály, we must mention the playwright József Katona, whose name is preserved by the József Katona Theater, and the poet Sándor Petőfi, who lived and created in this city between 1828 and 1830.
Other Secessionist historical buildings in the city include the Old Church, also known as the Great Church, which for a long time was a model for churches in the Great Plain. The Lutheran Church, designed by Miklós Ybl and built in the Romantic style. An integral part of the cityscape is the Reformed Church, which bears elements of multiple architectural styles, as well as the Moorish-style former synagogue with its onion dome tower.
Among its sights, the Kecskemét Game Garden must be highlighted, which is territorially the smallest zoo in the country. It was established in 1971, primarily for showcasing native wildlife and indigenous Hungarian domestic animals. The previous species composition has since been significantly expanded, and today the zoo features magnificent specimens from 110 species, representing all continents of the world. The aim of the Kecskemét Game Garden is the preservation and development of existing natural values.
Among the city’s natural sights, the Kecskemét Arboretum stands out with its abundance of wonderful natural beauty. The collection garden spans 62 hectares and contains more than 900 different plant species and their varieties. With its significant plant stock, the Arboretum is a prominent element of Kecskemét’s green areas. In the young plant collection, visitors can relax in the shade of tulip trees, lily trees, giant sequoias, oaks, and rubber trees, among others. The youngest part of the arboretum is the oak collection, which covers 16 hectares and showcases Hungarian as well as some foreign oak species that tolerate dry conditions. In addition to nature trails, the arboretum offers visitors a species playground, a lookout tower, shelters, and a pergola.
The 2 x CAC dog show in Kecskemét takes place at the Benkó Zoltán Leisure Center, which, alongside the Arboretum, forms an integral part of the city’s green zone. Half of the entire area features an artificial lake, and from the excavated soil, a 40-meter-high hill was created. On the remaining land, a wooded and grove park has been established.
All visitors, guests, exhibitors with their dogs are warmly welcomed to Kecskemét, at the Benkó Zoltán Leisure Center, to the autumn 2 x CAC national dog show by the “Hírös” Hungarian Dog Breeders’ Independent Association!
