The Club Show gains greater prestige from the fact that during the 3-day international exhibition weekend, October 20 – 21 – 22, 2017, the opportunity to earn the Champion title is open + on October 21, at the Saturday CACIB show, the Crufts qualification can be obtained, and on October 22, Sunday, the Derby winner title. Further information can be read in the exhibition guide on our portal.

In our small country, the official breed guardian of the chow-chow is the Hungarian Chow-Chow Club, which was established in February 2002. The main goal of the association is to operate as a breed-guardian dog breeding organization by developing and maintaining a registered dog population healthy and with breed characteristics in accordance with the regulations.

The Club’s duties include coordinating breeding work, organizing breed surveys and shows, and frequently organizing joint programs for breeders and breed enthusiasts. Additionally, representing Hungary, it participates every year in breed shows of neighboring countries, such as the prestigious Italian and Slovak Club Shows, where the club’s breeders usually return with excellent exhibition results.

The Hungarian Chow-Chow Club and Friends Circle warmly welcome breeders committed to the chow-chow breed as their members and also warmly invites those chow owners whose dogs are not registered, as well as chow enthusiasts who previously had a registered chow but currently do not or do not yet have one but will soon.

The location of the Chow-Chow CAC Club Show and the international dog shows is the city of Komárom, which lies on the eastern edge of the Little Hungarian Plain and on the right bank of the Danube, with a population of nearly 20,000. Komárom is a busy border town as well as a cultural and tourist center and, thanks to its excellent location, it has been an important economic and strategic center of our small country since ancient times. Life in the area has been centered around the Komárom fortress system. In addition to the change in the country's borders, the Treaty of Trianon also rearranged the city's boundaries. One half of the split city remains within Hungary's border, while the other part is still located in Slovakia.

Among Komárom’s sights, the most significant are the Reformed Church in the city center, the Roman Catholic Church, the Turul statue, and the Komárom Spa, whose uniqueness lies in the mineral-rich medicinal water springing from 1268 meters deep.

The western part of the city is famous for its natural beauty, where the WF Leisure Park is located, offering many recreational opportunities in a picturesque setting for visiting guests. The Leisure Park hosts outdoor concerts, festivals, all-day family programs, exhibitions, and competitions.

A major tourist attraction of the city is the Komárom fortress system, whose members in Hungary include the Monostor Fortress, the Igmánd Fortress, and the Star Fortress. The Klapka György Museum can be found in the Igmánd Fortress, whose permanent exhibitions feature prominently the Roman Stone Collection as well as exhibitions presenting the history of the Hungarian Navy.

The Monostor Fortress – which also serves as the venue for the international dog show – is Central Europe's largest modern fortress, built between 1850 and 1871. The construction of the Monostor Fortress employed the most advanced architectural techniques of the era, but by the time it was completed, it had already become militarily outdated. Its military function has long ceased, and nowadays it serves as a tourist attraction and venue for various events.

The detailed history of the Komárom fortress system can be seen in the video below:

The Hungarian Chow-Chow Club warmly welcomes all interested parties, guests, and exhibitors with their dogs to Komárom, at the Monostor Fortress, on October 21, 2017, for a colorful and high-quality CAC Club Show!
