Organized by the Mosonmagyaróvár Organization of Dog Breeders, we can participate in an all-breeds CAC national dog show on April 23, 2017. The venue of the show is in Mosonmagyaróvár on the grounds of the Riding School on Kálnoki Street.
The Mosonmagyaróvár Organization of Dog Breeders is a dog organization with a long history, whose establishment dates back to the late 1960s. Specifically, it was founded at the end of 1968 with 12 members, then still under the name MEOE Mosonmagyaróvári Association. After its formation, the leaders of the organization started work with great enthusiasm, as a result of which they already organized a CAC dog show in 1970. In the following decades, the Association successfully held numerous breed inspections, dog sport events, and dog shows.
High-level work has been carried out in the organization since its inception, primarily focusing on dog keeping, breeding, and training alongside coordinating breeding. The aim of the organization is to promote cultured dog keeping in as many areas as possible and to introduce families to proper dog care and upbringing. To this end, the Mosonmagyaróvár Dog School and Kindergarten also do everything they can with their various training courses, which are available to everyone.
The Dog School helps dog owners with behavioral, socialization, and obedience training. Their colorful program selection includes clicker courses and preparation for shows, as well as many enthusiasts participating in the popular dog sport activities, especially agility. Almost all age groups are represented among the school's students, but mostly young people and children. The sessions are held on Sunday mornings. The Mosonmagyaróvár Dog School also gladly participates in various events with discipline and protection demonstrations, which are very popular among spectators. The annual events organized by the Association also attract many interested people, such as the dog run, the summer dog camp, and the beauty contest for mixed breed dogs.
The Mosonmagyaróvár Organization of Dog Breeders also has a great tradition in organizing dog shows; moving into the 2000s, they have organized and conducted several successful CAC dog shows. This year, they have once again received the right from the parent association to organize a CAC dog show.

The city hosting the CAC dog show is Mosonmagyaróvár, which is the third largest city in the Győr-Moson-Sopron region and one of Hungary's 16 historic cities. Thanks to its geographical location, the city has always been an important economic, financial, tourism, transportation, industrial, and commercial center throughout its history.
The city's history dates back to the Roman era, when it existed under the name Ad Flexum and functioned as a military base. In the following decades, this camp was destroyed in several parts, on the ruins of which the medieval city was built. During the conquest period, the city became a county center and later a county seat. At that time, Moson and Óvár still functioned as two separate settlements. Moson's role significantly strengthened after the conquest; it was mentioned in 11th-century chronicles as a strong fortress and a busy trading town. Development came to an end in 1271, when the Moson fortification was so heavily demolished that rebuilding it was not worthwhile, so Óvár became the center of the county. Magyaróvár’s development was greatly contributed to by its trade and industrialization. Queen Elisabeth elevated Óvár to the rank of queen cities. During the Turkish occupation, it was plundered several times. While Magyaróvár developed into the region's industrial and cultural center, Moson remained a large community inhabited by farmers and traders. The two city parts merged in 1939, and since then they have formed the city of Mosonmagyaróvár.
Mosonmagyaróvár is classified among historic cities due to its protected buildings, architectural ensembles, and medieval street network. Thirteen of its individually protected buildings are nationally significant monuments. The Óvár Castle was built in the 13th century on the remains of the Roman settlement. After the Rákóczi War of Independence, the building, having lost its military significance, was converted into an agricultural higher education institution, whose legal successor today is the Faculty of Agricultural Sciences of the University of West Hungary. A museum on the history of the institution can be visited in the castle building. The city has several baroque residential houses, including the oldest inn, the Black Eagle Hotel and Restaurant. The significant baroque monuments also include the Statue of Saint John of Nepomuk. The city's gothic jewel is the Cselley House, which houses the Hanság Museum's industrial history exhibition, and visitors can also see the Roman Stone Collection in its cellar. The Hanság Museum hosts a permanent exhibition presenting the history of the city and its surroundings. During our city walk, we can visit Catholic, Reformed, and Lutheran churches.
In 2012, Mosonmagyaróvár’s newest attraction, FUTURA, opened its doors. In the nearly 300-year-old granary building, an interactive experience center was created where visitors can get to know the natural sciences more closely through the four classical elements. FUTURA’s extremely exciting, experience-filled exhibitions invite both children and adults to play and learn simultaneously. Visitors to the region can also enjoy numerous other interesting programs, such as sightseeing, boat trips, horseback riding, cycling tours, carriage rides, as well as guided tours in the Mosonmagyaróvár museum's art gallery.
Today, the city’s greatest treasure and attraction is its thermal water, which was declared medicinal water in 1967. This medicinal water is suitable for treating rheumatic and musculoskeletal diseases, inflammations, respiratory disorders, and gastrointestinal problems. From the mid-1990s, a significant investment started in the spa area, including hotels, restaurants, apartments, service, and medical departments. Today, all these can be enjoyed at a high standard by guests wishing to exercise, relax, and heal.
The specific venue for the dog show is the Máriakálnok Riding Hall area, where the Mosonmagyaróvár Dog Breeders Association warmly welcomes all interested visitors, guests, and exhibitors with their dogs to a special and colorful CAC dog show!
