Organized by the Ebtenyésztők Mosonmagyaróvári Szervezete, we can participate in a multi-breed CAC national dog show on April 29, 2018. The venue of the show is in Mosonmagyaróvár on the grounds of the Riding Hall located on Kálnoki Road.
The Association organizing the show, the Ebtenyésztők Mosonmagyaróvári Association
The Ebtenyésztők Mosonmagyaróvári Szervezete is a long-standing dog organization, founded back in the late 1960s. According to concrete data, it was established at the end of 1968 with 12 members, then known as MEOE Mosonmagyaróvári Association. Following its founding, the leaders of the organization enthusiastically started their work, as a result of which a CAC dog show was organized in 1970. In the following decades, the association successfully conducted numerous breed inspections, dog sport events, and dog shows.
Since its foundation, high-level work has been carried out within the organization, focusing mainly on dog keeping, breeding, and training, alongside coordinating breeding. The aim of the organization is to promote cultured dog keeping in as many areas as possible, and to familiarize families who keep dogs or live with dogs with proper dog keeping and education. To this end, the Mosonmagyaróvári Dog School and Kindergarten also does everything possible with its various training courses, which are accessible to everyone.
The Dog School helps dog owners with behavioral, socialization, and obedience training. Their colorful program range includes clicker training courses and preparation for shows, as well as the popular dog sport activities, with many enthusiasts participating in agility. Students at the school represent almost every age group, but the majority are young people and children. The sessions are held on Sunday mornings.
The Mosonmagyaróvári Dog School gladly participates in various events with discipline and guard-protection demonstrations, which are very popular among viewers. The association’s annually organized events also attract many visitors, such as dog runs, summer dog camps, and beauty contests for mixed breed dogs.
The Ebtenyésztők Mosonmagyaróvári Szervezete also has a great tradition in organizing dog shows; crossing into the 2000s, they successfully organized and conducted several CAC dog shows. This year, they once again received the right from the mother association to organize a CAC dog show.

Introducing the city of the dog show, Mosonmagyaróvár
The city of the CAC dog show is Mosonmagyaróvár, which is the third largest city in the Győr-Moson-Sopron region and one of the 16 historic cities of Hungary. Due to its geographical location, it has always been an important economic, financial, tourism, transport, industrial and commercial center throughout its history.
The city’s history goes back to the Roman era, when it existed as Ad Flexum and functioned as a military base. In the following decade, this camp was destroyed multiple times, and the medieval city was built on its ruins. During the Hungarian conquest period, the city became a county seat and later the administrative center. At that time, Moson and Óvár functioned as two separate settlements. Moson's role significantly strengthened after the conquest period, and the 11th-century chronicles mentioned it as a strong castle and busy trading city. Development ended in 1271, when the Moson fortress was so severely demolished that it was no longer worth rebuilding, making Óvár the center of the county. Magyaróvár’s growth was greatly contributed to by its trade and industrialization. Queen Erzsébet elevated Óvár to the rank of queen’s city. During the Ottoman rule, it was repeatedly devastated. While Magyaróvár developed into the industrial and cultural center of the region, Moson was a large community inhabited by farmers and traders. The two city parts merged in 1939, and since then together they have formed the city of Mosonmagyaróvár.
Mosonmagyaróvár is classified among historic towns due to its monument buildings, building complexes, and medieval street network. Of its individually protected buildings, 13 are nationally significant monuments. The Óvári Castle was built on the remains of the Roman settlement in the 13th century. After the Rákóczi War of Independence, the building, which had lost its military significance, was converted into an agricultural higher education institution, whose legal successor today is the Faculty of Agricultural Sciences of the University of West Hungary. A museum of institutional history can be visited in the castle building. The town also features several baroque residential houses, including the town’s oldest inn, the Black Eagle Hotel and Restaurant. Among the important baroque monuments is also the statue of Saint John of Nepomuk. The town’s gothic jewel is the Cselley House, where the industrial history exhibition of the Hanság Museum can be seen, and in its cellar the Roman Stone Collection can be visited. The Hanság Museum hosts a permanent exhibition presenting the history of the town and its surroundings. On our city walk, we can visit Catholic, Reformed, and Lutheran churches.
In 2012, Mosonmagyaróvár’s newest special attraction, FUTURA, opened its doors. In the nearly 300-year-old former granary building, an interactive experience center was created where visitors can get closer to the natural sciences through the four primal elements. FUTURA’s extremely exciting, experience-filled exhibitions invite both children and adults to play and learn at the same time. Visitors coming to the region are also welcomed by many other interesting programs such as city tours, sightseeing cruises, horseback riding, cycling tours, carriage rides, and guided tours in the picture gallery of the Mosonmagyaróvár museum.
Today, the greatest treasure and attraction of the town is the thermal water, which was declared medicinal water in 1967. This medicinal water is suitable for treating rheumatic and musculoskeletal diseases, inflammations, respiratory ailments, and stomach and intestinal disorders. Since the mid-1990s, significant investments have been made in the bath area, including hotels, restaurants, apartments, service and medical departments. Today, guests seeking sports, relaxation, and healing can enjoy all this at a high standard.
Come and visit, the organizers warmly welcome you too!
